✨ Welcome to Girl Guiding! ✨

The Girl Guides Association of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is in its 112th year and today we pause to honour a distinguished gentleman whose contribution forms part of the story of our movement.

Throughout our long history, only two men have served on the Council of the Girl Guides Association of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Among the trailblazers was Mr. Lennox John, of blessed memory.

In the 1980s, at a time when conversations around the advancement and empowerment of girls and women were gaining important momentum, Mr. John recognised the transformative potential of Guiding. He championed the cause of female empowerment and chose to lend his wisdom, service and voice to a movement committed to helping girls and young women discover their strength, purpose, confidence and fullest potential.

His service came at a critical juncture in the history of our Association, and the impact of that service is woven into the story of the generations of girls and young women who have since been empowered through Guiding.

The Girl Guides Association of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is better because of Mr. John’s service, and we are deeply grateful for the contribution he made to our movement and to the advancement of our girls.

As we mourn his passing, we do so with gratitude for a life that touched our movement and helped strengthen a vision that continues today: a world where every girl is valued, empowered and equipped to reach her fullest potential.

To his family, friends and loved ones, we extend our deepest condolences. May the memories of his life of service bring comfort, and may his legacy of believing in the potential of girls and young women continue to inspire us.
