The Central Water and Sewerage Authority wishes to notify residents of SANDY BAY and surrounding areas, of on-going work in the vicinity of Cato Rock,
from MONDAY September 21st, 2026, between 8:30AM to 3:30PM.

Motorists and Pedestrians are advised to expect delays and to exercise caution, as the regular flow of traffic will be disrupted while work is underway.

The CWSA apologizes for any inconvenience caused.

The Solid Waste Management Unit (SWMU) hosted the first stakeholder workshop for St. Vincent and the Grenadines' new “National Solid Waste Management Strategy” on Thursday, September 10.

Government, private contractors, NGOs, and community organizations sat together, to review where the country's waste system currently stands.

The SWMU has been the country's designated waste authority for over twenty years without an adopted national strategy. This workshop, delivered under the World Bank-funded UBEC programme with the Unite Caribbean–Espelia team, is the first step toward changing that.

Stakeholders validated the current-system findings. Everything raised feeds directly into the draft strategy, which will return to stakeholders for review at a second workshop before it is finalized.

The CWSA/SWMU is pleased to announce its "Free White Goods" collection service.

Commencing on Monday, September 28th, 2026 until Saturday, October 3rd, 2026.

Collection of white goods is on your regular garbage collection day. Note that galvanize, wood, steel and concrete are NOT part of this collection.

Commercial Entities are excluded from this free service.

On the ground in Overland! 👷🏾‍♂️

As work continues on the VEEP North Windward Groundwater Supplementary Water Supply System... CWSA teams are actively working on tank construction. Here we see concrete pours for the floor of the Overland Tank, laying the groundwork for increased storage capacity. Every stage brings us closer to a stronger and more resilient water system. 💧🇻🇨

On August 26th 2026, A joint task force comprising of representatives from the Sustainable Development Unit, Consultants from the SVG Environmental Fund and the CWSA, visited and held discussions with Prison Leadership at Belle Isle Prison.

Discussions focused on assessing the waste water challenges and the potable water storage for the prison. 🇻🇨
