A Tribute to Ms. Carron Bucchan
A Teacher Whose Love Helped Little Hearts Learn to Soar

Today, we pause as the Evesham Methodist School family to remember and celebrate the life of Ms. Carron Bucchan, a daughter of this school, a past teacher of this school, and a woman whose name is forever woven into the history of Evesham Methodist School.

There is something particularly special about being able to say that Ms.Bucchan was once a student of Evesham Methodist School and later returned to become one of its teachers.
She knew this school from both sides of the desk.
She knew what it felt like to sit in these classrooms as a child, and later, she stood in front of those classrooms and welcomed children. And what a beautiful contribution she made.

For most of her tenure at the school, Ms. Bucchan was entrusted with some of the youngest and most precious members of our school family. She spent many of her years teaching Infant 1.
Now, anyone who has ever taught little children knows that this is not a job for the faint-hearted!
Teaching the little ones requires patience that sometimes seems to come from another dimension. It requires the ability to explain the same thing several times, and then smile when the child looks at you as if you have just spoken a completely different language!
It requires wiping tears, tying shoelaces, settling disagreements, finding missing pencils, comforting children who miss Mommy or Daddy, and somehow still finding time to teach the alphabet and numbers. And Ms. Bucchan did it. She did it with love. She understood that when a child first walks into Reception, they are not merely entering a classroom. They are entering a whole new world. But somehow, Ms. Bucchan had a way of making those little ones feel safe. She welcomed them. She reassured them. She nurtured them. And little by little, the tears gave way to smiles, the shyness gave way to confidence, and those tiny children began to discover that school was not such a bad place after all.

That was one of Ms. Bucchan's gifts. She knew how to make children feel cared for.
Perhaps, a former student may not remember the exact lesson Ms. Bucchan taught on a particular morning. But they may remember her voice. They may remember her smile. They may remember how she encouraged them when they struggled.

Evesham Methodist School was part of Ms. Bucchan's beginning, and she became part of the beginning of so many others. She came here as a child. She returned as a teacher. She nurtured children. She helped them take their first steps.
And now, as we say farewell, we realize that the steps she helped so many children take have carried them much farther than she could ever have imagined.

So today, we do not want our final memory of Ms. Bucchan to be simply that she died.
We want to remember that she lived. She lived. She taught. She loved. She served. She cared. She gave. She left this world having made it a little better for the children whose lives she touched.

To the family of Ms. Carron Bucchan, we say: Thank you for sharing her with us. We know that she belonged to you first, but for many years, she also belonged to the Evesham Methodist School family and we are grateful that her life became part of the story of this school.
May the legacy of your life continue to speak through the many students whose lives you helped to shape.
Rest well, Teacher Bucchan. Sleep peacefully. Your legacy remains.

What a way to kick off the new school year!

Today we welcomed our students back for day one and the morning was made even more memorable by a special visit from our Minister of Education, Hon Phillip Jackson.

-Classroom Visits: He toured the school and popped into classrooms to share encouraging words with our students.

-Community Connection: He met with our dedicated teachers and staff, to offer his full support for the year ahead.

Having our area representative in our halls today was a fantastic reminder of the strong community behind our school. Thank you to the Minister for starting our year on such an inspiring note!

​We are bursting with pride as we celebrate the incredible achievements of our students at Evesham Methodist School! Please join us in giving a massive congratulations to our Top 5 CPEA Performers featured in the image below, as well as every single student who gave it their all. You have all done exceptionally well! 🎓✨

​This year, our school achieved a phenomenal 94.4% pass rate! While we celebrate this massive success, we also want to recognize the immense effort of the entire class, including one of our students who narrowly missed the mark by a mere 1.8%. We are equally proud of your hard work, dedication, and resilience.

​To all of our graduating students: as you step into this next chapter, remember that Knowledge Is Power and excellence lies within you. We wish you nothing but the absolute best in your future academic journeys! Keep shining brightly!
