GHCDS Presents: The Wizard of Oz Ruses are played. Hi-jinx occurs. And the plot spins everyone into musical comedy euphoria.
The curtain rises on a present-day musical theatre fanatic eager to tell you about his favorite Broadway musical -- “The Drowsy Chaperone.” He’s the ultimate musical theater fan and “Drowsy” is his guilty pleasure. As he begins listening to the rare cast recording, the show cleverly and magically blooms to life, telling the hilarious tale of a pampered Broadway starlet and her debonair fiancé, an overzealous producer, a dizzy chorine, the Latin lover and a couple of bumbling gangsters.

The show doesn't begin when the curtain rises... it begins long before the audience arrives.
Before opening night, it was truly all hands on deck as our cast and crew transformed the pavilion into a theatre worthy of our patrons. Chairs were scrubbed, seating was arranged, final details were checked, and everyone pitched in to make sure our guests would have the best possible experience.
And because theatre people know how to make work fun, they did it all while singing their favorite songs from the show! After all, why not whistle while you work?
This video is a glimpse of the teamwork, pride, and joy that happens behind the scenes. Every performer, crew member, and volunteer plays a part in creating the magic—not just on stage, but everywhere you look.
We couldn't be prouder of this incredible company and the heart they've poured into every detail.
