🌿 MEET OUR GUEST SPEAKER | DR. LÊ THU TRANG
Decision Lab and ANT Academy are delighted to welcome Dr. Lê Thu Trang, Lecturer in the Faculty of International Economics at Foreign Trade University, as the guest speaker for Green Choices, Real Trade-Offs.
With research focusing on how environmental regulations affect Vietnam’s textile and garment exports, Dr. Trang will help us explore:
Why do our actions not always reflect our environmental values?
Why might a product’s price not capture its full environmental cost?
What roles should consumers, businesses, and governments play?
Can stricter environmental standards become a competitive advantage for Vietnamese businesses?
Join us to explore environmental issues through an economic lens and uncover the real trade-offs behind the choices we make every day.

What Is Behavioural Economics?
Why do we procrastinate even when we know we will regret it later? Why does a “limited-time offer” make us want something more? And why do we often follow what everyone else is doing?
Traditional economics often assumes that people make rational decisions by carefully weighing costs and benefits. In reality, our choices are also shaped by emotions, habits, social pressure, limited attention, and psychological biases.
This is where behavioural economics comes in.
By combining economics with psychology, behavioural economics explores how people actually make decisions, not how they would behave in a perfectly rational world.
For example, we may choose to scroll through social media instead of studying because the immediate reward feels more valuable than the future benefit. We may buy something simply because it is on sale, or choose a popular option because others have already selected it.
Understanding these patterns does not make us perfectly rational. But it can help us recognise the hidden forces influencing our behaviours and make more thoughtful decisions.
What is one decision you regularly make even though you know another choice might be better?

Meet the Team Behind Decision Lab!
Behind every article, workshop, survey, and experiment is a team of five students curious about one question: Why do people make the decisions they do?
Together, we bring different interests, perspectives, and skills to make behavioral economics more accessible and engaging for young people.
We are excited to learn, experiment, and grow alongside our community and we cannot wait to share what we have been working on.
Now let's meet the team behind Decision Lab!

Introducing Decision Lab Project
Every day, we make hundreds of decisions.
Should I start studying now or later?
Why do I keep checking my phone?
Which subjects should I pursue?
Am I choosing what I truly want, or simply following everyone else?
Although these choices may feel personal, they are often shaped by hidden forces: habits, emotions, incentives, social pressure, and psychological biases.
Decision Lab is a student-led initiative that uses behavioral economics, psychology, and decision science to explore how teenagers think, choose, and decide.
Through accessible articles, surveys, workshops, and interactive challenges, we examine the decisions students face every day from studying and social media to spending and future careers.
Our mission is simple: to help young people understand the forces influencing their choices and become more thoughtful, informed decision-makers.
We will not teach economics as a collection of complicated graphs and formulas. Instead, we will use economic thinking to better understand ourselves, our communities, and the world around us.
Because making better decisions begins with understanding how we make them.
Welcome to Decision Lab. Follow us as we uncover the hidden science behind everyday choices.
