IRATA Rope Access Training
Members of our team have recently completed their level 1 IRATA rope access training, strengthening our in-house capability for safe access working alongside our experienced rope access partners for difficult-to-reach areas.
Rope access allows us to carry out glass replacement, façade inspections, investigations, maintenance and remedial works efficiently, particularly where traditional access methods are restricted or impractical.
Another step in developing the skills and expertise within our team.

PROJECT COMPLETE | Rolex Store, Glasgow
Works are now complete at the new Rolex store in Glasgow in partnership with X-Met Fabrication Ltd.
The project included the installation and specialist lifting equipment required to safely install Forster fire rated windows and curtain wall screens on Level 1, including the main viewing screen and glazing around the stair cores.
With individual units weighing up to 474kg and restricted access on site, lifting operations were carried out using our MFC750K floor crane.
Another technically challenging project delivered safely and successfully by the team.
A special thanks to X-Met for getting us involved with this one.
If you have a difficult access or specialist glazing project you would like to discuss, please get in touch.

🇮🇹 AR Group in Venice.
A brilliant few days at Performance-Based Façade Design (PBFD) 2026, bringing together people from across the façade industry to share knowledge, ideas and experience.
Alongside the conference, we visited a Murano glass factory and had the chance to see the incredible skill and craftsmanship behind traditional Murano glass blowing first-hand.
The Façade Failures & Lessons Learned workshop was particularly helpful and relevant to AR Group, with some really valuable insights and discussions that we can take back into our own projects and approach to façade remediation.
Plenty of good conversations, new connections and lots taken away from the trip.
A great few days in Venice. 🇮🇹
A special thank you to Angela Majorin for organising such an informative and memorable trip — it was a fantastic experience.

IS YOUR BUILDING READY FOR WINTER?
The recent heavy rainfall in Edinburgh has been a timely reminder of just how quickly weaknesses in a building envelope can become visible.
As summer comes to an end and we head towards the wetter, harsher months, now is the time to identify potential issues before they become costly problems.
AR Group works with clients across the UK providing façade inspections, water ingress investigations, remedial works and planned preventative maintenance.
From glazing, curtain walling and cladding to failed seals, joints and façade interfaces, our team can help identify areas of concern, investigate existing leaks and carry out the remedial work required.
Regular maintenance, including appropriate commercial cleaning in line with O&M requirements, can also help catch deterioration early and reduce the risk of unexpected failures, internal damage and reactive repairs.
Don’t wait for the next heavy downpour to find the problem.
Get in touch with AR Group to discuss an inspection, investigation or maintenance programme for your building.

PROJECT SECURED | James Gillespie’s High School, Edinburgh - Curtain Wall Remediation
Following reports of water ingress, AR Group were initially instructed to attend site and investigate the existing curtain wall screens.
We carried out an intrusive survey, documenting our findings with detailed photographs and video evidence, before producing a comprehensive report outlining the issues identified and our recommended remedial works.
Following review of our findings, the client has now instructed us to proceed with the remedial works.
We believe this approach provides real value to our clients. Clear evidence, transparent reporting and informed recommendations give clients confidence that they understand the issues and, importantly, why the proposed solution is required.
Another project secured, and another opportunity to put our specialist façade knowledge into practice.
If you are a building owner experiencing water ingress or concerns with existing curtain walling, get in touch.

This month, we’re celebrating an incredible milestone for our Director, Donald Fraser, marking 43 years working within the glazing and façade industry.
Over more than four decades, Donald has seen the industry change enormously. From the systems and technology we work with to the scale, complexity and standards expected across today’s built environment, his career has spanned generations of change.
The knowledge Donald has built over those 43 years continues to play an important part in AR Group today, whether that’s understanding complex façade issues, finding practical solutions on site or passing that experience on to the next generation of the team.
From one of Donald’s earliest days in the industry to today, pictured with his grandson, these two photographs capture just how much can change in 43 years.
A remarkable milestone and one we’re incredibly proud to celebrate. Congratulations, Donald.
