BREAKING NEWS: The body of an 11th woman has been found along a railway line in Struisbult, Springs, Ekurhuleni, deepening concern over a string of deaths in and around the metro. Police have so far arrested four suspects in connection with three of the cases.

HORROR N2 CRASH: 11 KILLED AS TAXI COLLIDES WITH TRUCK AND CATCHES FIRE

MTUBATUBA, KZN – 11 people have been killed in a horrific early-morning crash involving a minibus taxi and a truck on the N2 near Mtubatuba in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

The deadly head-on collision happened at about 4am on Sunday, 27 September 2026, near the Nkwiliza Bridge/KwaManandi area.

The minibus taxi, travelling northbound, collided head-on with a truck travelling in the opposite direction before bursting into flames, trapping passengers inside.

Several people were also critically injured and suffered serious burn wounds. Reports currently differ on the exact number of injured, with authorities still dealing with the aftermath of the crash.

According to reports, the taxi passengers were returning from a Maskandi festival in eMpangeni when tragedy struck.

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli has conveyed his condolences to the families, relatives and friends of those who lost their lives, describing the incident as a devastating tragedy.

The N2 was closed in the affected area while emergency personnel and investigators worked at the scene.

The exact circumstances that led to the deadly collision have not yet been established, and investigations are continuing.

🚨 BREAKING | Charlotte Tibana’s younger sister handed herself over at the Polokwane Police Station on Sunday afternoon, accompanied by representatives of Hlawu Maluleke Attorneys, MDNtv has been informed.

MAN DIES IN FATAL M7 CRASH IN ZONKIZIZWE

A man believed to be in his 30s has died following a fatal motor vehicle crash on the M7 in Zonkizizwe, Ekurhuleni, during the early hours of Sunday, 27 September 2026.

The crash occurred at around 00:55, involving a Ford Figo and an Audi A4.

According to Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) spokesperson William Ntladi, firefighters found both vehicles off the road when they arrived at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Audi A4, both men, sustained minor injuries but declined transport to hospital.

The driver of the Ford Figo was found critically injured and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. Firefighters used specialised hydraulic rescue equipment to extricate his body from the vehicle.

A male passenger in his 20s, who was travelling in the Ford Figo, sustained moderate injuries. He was treated at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the scene was handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS).

WOMAN FOUND NAKED AND FATALLY INJURED AT TEMBISA CEMETERY — SUSPECT ARRESTED IN LIMPOPO

A suspect has been arrested in Limpopo in connection with the murder of Ntombifuthu Nxumalo, whose body was discovered at Mooifontein Cemetery in the Vusimusi Section, Tembisa, on Saturday morning.

Police said Nxumalo was found naked with serious head injuries. Stones were discovered around her body, raising the possibility that she may have been stoned. Police said no visible stab wounds were observed at the scene.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the woman had been drinking at a local tavern with a female acquaintance before leaving the premises with an unidentified man.

Residents living near the cemetery allegedly reported hearing a woman screaming and pleading for her life at around 23:00.

Investigators traced a suspect to an address in Tembisa, but established that he had travelled to Limpopo.

A joint investigative team from Crime Intelligence Ekurhuleni District, Tembisa South Detectives and Head Office Investigations Psychology Services (IPS) travelled to Mohlabaneng Village in Limpopo and enlisted the assistance of SAPS Bolobedu.

The suspect was reportedly found asleep in his room and arrested.

Gauteng Provincial Commissioner commended the multidisciplinary team for the swift investigation that led to the arrest.

The suspect is expected to face a murder charge. Further details are expected as the investigation continues.

BREAKING: 17 GUNNED DOWN IN A TAVERN MASSACRE

WEDELA, WEST RAND — Horror unfolded at a tavern in Extension 3, Wedela, on Saturday night when 17 people were shot dead in a mass shooting.

Police say eight armed men stormed the tavern at around 21:30, opening fire on patrons outside before allegedly entering the tavern and continuing the shooting.

The suspects were reportedly armed with AK-47 rifles and pistols.

According to police, the attackers allegedly searched some patrons and stole their cellphones before escaping in two unidentified vehicles. Two vehicles were also set alight.

The victims include 13 men and four women. All 17 were declared dead at the scene.

Another 15 people were wounded and rushed to medical facilities for treatment.

POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT

The motive for the deadly attack remains unknown.

Police have opened:
• 17 murder cases
• 15 attempted murder cases
• 2 malicious damage to property cases

No arrests have been made.

Detectives and specialised police units have been mobilised in a massive effort to track down the suspects.
