Tongaat, N2 Northbound - taxi loses control leaving one dead

On Friday afternoon, IPSS Medical Rescue, IPSS S&R, Kwadukuza Fire Department, SAPS and RTI responded to taxi accident on the N2 Northbound between Tongaat and Ballito.

A fully laden taxi had lost control, rolling and ejected several passengers, leaving 4 critically injured.

The critically injured patients, including a 3 year old toddler, were stabilised on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support Paramedics, before being transported to a suitable facility in Durban.

A further 10 passengers sustained injuries from minor to serious, and were treated by various services on scene before being transported to a nearby facility for further care.

Sadly, one occupant sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.

Glendale Area - Missing 19 Year old

IPSS Search and Rescue returned to the Glendale area on Thursday morning, after Glendale SAPS reported locating the body 15m down a steep cliff.

IPSS Search & Rescue teams, alongside Durban SAPS Search & Rescue mobilised to the scene to assist with the recovery of the body.

With the use of a rope system, rescue teams were able to safely recover the body, bringing it up the steep cliff.

The body of the young man was handed over to Glendale SAPS, who will continue the investigation.

Thank you to all those who have worked to find the missing man over the last few days, including Empangeni SAPS K9 Search & Rescue, Durban SAPS Search & Rescue, Badul Air Aviation, Glendale SAPS, our volunteers and the Glendale community.

Biker deceased after collision with bakkie - Ballito Drive, Ballito

A short while ago IPSS Medical Rescue responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision on Ballito drive in Ballito.

On arrival of paramedics it was established that a bakkie and motorcycle had collided. Sadly, the driver of the motorcycle had sustained extensive traumatic injuries and was declared deceased on scene. No other injuries were reported.

The scene has been handed over to SAPS for further investigation into the cause of the accident.

One deceased, two injured after truck accident - R614 Esenembe

Earlier this afternoon IPSS Medical Rescue received reports of a truck accident on the R614 near Esenembe, Upper Tongaat.

On arrival of paramedics it was established that a truck had veered off the road and down a steep embankment. Sadly, the driver of the truck sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.

Two passengers sustained serious injuries and were stabilised on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital under the care of an IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedic.

The scene was handed over to SAPS to investigate the cause.

Man critical after vehicle collides with cow - N2 near Sezela

Late last night IPSS Medical Rescue received reports of a motor vehicle accident on the N2 near Sezela on the KZN South Coast.

On arrival of paramedics it was established that a light motor vehicle had collided with a cow.

The driver of the vehicle sustained critical injuries and was stabilised on scene by an IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedic before being flown to a specialist facility by Netcare911 HEMS for further care.

Isithebe - school pupil left dead after fight

On Tuesday morning, IPSS Medical Rescue responded to a high school in the Isithebe area, after receiving reports of a boy that had been struck in the head and left unconscious, following a physical fight with another student.

Sadly, on arrival of IPSS Medical Rescue, it was found the pupil had succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on scene.

The scene has been handed over to local SAPS, who will investigate the matter further.

Multiple deceased and injured in head-on collision - P614 near Misty Ridge

Earlier this evening IPSS Medical Rescue received reports of a motor vehicle collision on the P614 near Misty Ridge.

On arrival of paramedics it was established that two vehicles had collided head-on at high speed. Resulting in four patients sustaining injuries ranging from serious to critical.

All four patients were stabilised on scene before being transported to nearby facilities under the care of IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics.

Sadly, three occupants were found to have sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased at the scene.

One killed, four injured in head-on on collision - R102 near Nyoni

A short while ago IPSS Medical Rescue responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident on the R102 near Nyoni.

On arrival of paramedics it was established that a bakkie and light motor vehicle had collided head-on.

Two patients sustained minor injuries and a further two patients sustained serious injuries. One of the seriously injured patients was stabilised on scene before being transported to a nearby facility under the care of an IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedic.

The remaining three patients were stabilised on scene by EMRS paramedics before also being transported to nearby facilities for further care.

Sadly, one person sustained fatal injuries. Our condolences to the family of the deceased.
