Battle of the Bands is an annual upliftment initiative by the Masque in collaboration with Interlace Uplift The event looks at providing mentorship and a learning opportunity for young musicians who are still in high school.

We select three bands from local high schools to collaborate with a professional band that is actively performing in the city. Each pro band member is then paired up with one of the high school bands, who they must coach to perform on the event day.

Last year we had bands from Muizenberg, Fishoek and Westridge participate. At the end of the event, each band walked away with a once in a lifetime experience, feeling supported by their community and some really cool prizes like a pro photo shoot.
