Last Sunday, I celebrated my birthday surrounded by people with the most beautiful and pure souls — people who truly understand me, my heart, and what I believe in. ❤️

I honestly have no words to fully express how grateful I am to have such amazing people in my life and to share this incredible rescue journey with them. 🐾❤️

Your time, effort, love and thoughtfulness touched my heart more than you will ever know. 🥹❤️
I feel truly blessed to have people around me who understand my passion for animals, support what I stand for, and walk beside me through this journey — the good days, the difficult days, the tears, the victories and everything in between.

A MESSAGE FROM SHAFEENA TO THE WORLD ❤️🐾

To the world…
I don't know if people truly understand what it feels like to love animals this deeply.

For me, rescue is not just a job. It isn't something I switch off when I leave the shelter.
These animals become part of my heart.
When I see an abandoned dog sitting alone, a frightened cat hiding in a corner, or an animal that has been hurt by the very people who were supposed to love them, something inside me breaks.
I feel their pain.
I carry their stories home with me.
And sometimes, honestly, I am exhausted.
Exhausted from worrying.
Exhausted from trying to find homes.
Exhausted from fundraising and worrying about bills.
Exhausted from seeing suffering that I wish I could prevent.
Exhausted from knowing that there are so many animals who need help and that I cannot save every single one.
Sometimes my heart feels completely overwhelmed.
But then one of them looks at me.
A dog who once knew only fear wags its tail.
A frightened cat finally allows itself to be touched.
An animal who was unwanted begins to trust again.
And in that moment, I remember why I cannot give up.

I wish the world could see animals the way I see them.
Not as burdens.
Not as disposable.
Not as something to throw away when they become inconvenient.
They are lives.
They feel fear.
They feel pain.
They feel loneliness.
They remember kindness.
And they love us without asking for anything in return.

I cannot save every animal.
But I can save the one in front of me.
And perhaps that is enough.
So when you see me tired, please don't think I am weak.
There is a heart behind this rescue that has been broken many times and still chooses to love.
There are days I cry.
There are days I question whether I have anything left to give.
And there are days when I simply need to sit quietly and breathe.
But I get back up.
Because somewhere, another animal is waiting.
Waiting for someone to care.
Waiting for someone to say, “You are safe now.”
And if I have to be tired, heartbroken and exhausted while giving them that chance…
then I will.
Because God knows my heart.
God knows every tear I have cried for a life that could not speak for itself.
And I pray that one day the world will understand that compassion isn't weakness.
It is love in its purest form.

I am Shafeena.
I am tired.
I am human.
But I am still here.
And as long as there is a life that needs me…
I will keep trying. ❤️🐾
