Pawsitive Pawsabilities

Since everyone always dresses their best to show off their heritage on Heritage Day, we thought it was only fitting to celebrate some of our very own PAWS fashion icons! 🐾✨

This week we're doing a little . We’re taking a trip down memory lane and showcasing some of the best-dressed, most stylish and downright fabulous faces who have strutted through our doors.

And seeing as you all know how much we LOVE a good photoshoot (and always have tons of props on hand), we certainly don’t have a shortage of photographs of our four-legged fashionistas.

From dapper gentlemen to glamorous ladies and everything in between, these PAWS patients have proven that good looks are definitely part of the family heritage!

So, let’s celebrate our heritage, our individuality and, of course, some seriously stylish pets!

Happy Heritage Day / Braai Day! 🌈

Today, we celebrate you, me, us, and everything that makes South Africa the wonderfully vibrant rainbow nation that it is.

Thank you for bringing your heritage, traditions, stories, music, food and lekker spirit to the melting pot that is Mzansi. Here’s to growing up and living life surrounded by flavours from every corner of the world, dancing along to a multitude of songs, celebrating our country and its big wins, cheering from the sidelines (or online!) when our heroes take to the skies ✈️ (We’re talking about you, Airlink!), and simply having a proper lekker jol together!

So today, gather your family and friends, turn up the music, stand around the braai, have a laugh, share a plate, and enjoy the people and traditions that make this country so special.

And remember… there is ALWAYS a family dog lurking beneath the braai.🐶
Waiting patiently.
Watching intently.
Hoping that someone drops a little meaty floor-d’oeuvre (no bones!)

You may think you’re being careful.
Your dog knows better.
And they are juuuust waiting for someone to look away.

Here’s to a future where we continue to celebrate our heritage freely, share it generously, learn from one another, and come together as one wonderfully diverse South African family.

Have a lekker Heritage Day, Mzansi! ✨

🐾 Is Your Puppy Redecorating?

Chewed shoes? ✔️
Shredded cushions? ✔️
That very expensive couch suddenly looking like confetti? ✔️

Puppies are adorable, but they can also be tiny, furry chaos machines! Our puppy classes help you build good habits, teach essential skills and set your little one up to become a happy, well-mannered member of the family.

Let’s keep the chewing to the toys, not the furniture!

Exciting news for cat lovers everywhere! 🐈‍⬛

Meet the Tilcayo (Leopardus tilcayo), a tiny wild cat from Bolivia that has just been formally recognised as a new species, the first new living feline species described by science in more than 100 years!

And this little feline is seriously fascinating…

Tiny but mighty: At around 42.5–50.5 cm from head to body and weighing approximately 1.4 kg, the Tilcayo is actually smaller than the average domestic cat!

Home sweet home: It has been identified in Bolivia’s lush Yungas cloud forests, on the eastern slopes of the Andes.

And its name has a beautiful story: “Tilcayo” is the name local communities in the Yungas have traditionally used for this little wild cat, a name passed down through generations.

Perhaps the most exciting part? There is still so much we don't know. Scientists are continuing to investigate how many Tilcayos may be living in the wild, how far their range extends, and more about their behaviour and way of life.

A brand-new chapter in the cat family tree has just been written, and it turns out there are still plenty of feline secrets left to discover!

Sometimes, all it takes is a walk to make a difference. ❤️

For a shelter dog, a walk can mean so much more than stretching their legs. It can be a moment of freedom, connection, kindness and, perhaps most importantly, a reminder that they are loved and seen.

At our Laps of Compassion Family Day, you can walk alongside a shelter dog and help give them a day to remember. Every lap is a small act of kindness that can make a big difference to a dog waiting for their forever home.

Come walk, connect, and share a little compassion with a dog who deserves it.
