SACE ATTENDS 26TH NATIONAL TEACHING AWARDS IN EKURHULENI

The South African Council for Educators (SACE) delegation is today attending the 26th National Teaching Awards (NTA) in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng.

President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the ceremony this morning, which brings together the education sector to recognise and celebrate the remarkable contribution of educators across South Africa.

The National Teaching Awards honour educators who continue to demonstrate excellence, dedication, innovation and leadership in advancing quality teaching and learning in the country’s schools.

The 26th edition of the awards is held under the theme:

“Uniting for Excellence: Elevating Achievement, Empowering Educators to Shape South Africa’s Future.”

SACE is proud to be part of this important national occasion that celebrates the invaluable contribution of educators and recognises their role in shaping the future of South Africa.

Extended MANCO Strategic Planning Session

SACE Management, led by the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Ella Mokgalane, is currently attending the three-day Extended MANCO Strategic Planning Session , taking place from **28–30 September 2026**.

The session is focusing on reviewing **organisational performance** and addressing key matters relating to the **Draft Annual Performance Plan (APP) for the 2027/2028 financial year**.

The engagement provides Management with an opportunity to reflect on progress made, assess performance against organisational priorities, identify areas requiring improvement, and strengthen alignment between SACE’s strategic objectives, planned activities and available resources.

The session also seeks to ensure that the Draft APP 2027/2028 is responsive to SACE’s mandate and supports the effective implementation of programmes aimed at strengthening the teaching profession in South Africa.
