Isithebe - school pupil left dead after fight

On Tuesday morning, IPSS Medical Rescue responded to a high school in the Isithebe area, after receiving reports of a boy that had been struck in the head and left unconscious, following a physical fight with another student.

Sadly, on arrival of IPSS Medical Rescue, it was found the pupil had succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on scene.

The scene has been handed over to local SAPS, who will investigate the matter further.

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources has announced the official fuel price adjustments that will come into effect from *Wednesday, 5 August 2026*.

⚠️SUSPECT APPREHENDED AFTER ALLEGEDLY POSING AS TEMPLE DEVOTEE TO COMMIT THEFT

A suspect has been apprehended by members of KZN VIP after allegedly posing as a temple devotee before stealing multiple items from a local temple in the Phoenix area.

It is alleged that the suspect entered the temple premises under the guise of being a devotee. Shortly thereafter, he reportedly stole several items before attempting to flee the scene.

An alert security officer noticed the suspect's suspicious behaviour and immediately raised the alarm. A foot chase ensued, with KZN VIP Response Officers responding swiftly to the scene.

The suspect was successfully apprehended a short distance away, and all of the allegedly stolen items were recovered in his possession.

The suspect was detained at the scene and handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for further investigation. Charges are expected to be instituted.

KZN VIP commends the vigilance of the security officer, whose prompt actions, together with the rapid response of KZN VIP members, resulted in the successful apprehension of the suspect and the recovery of the stolen property.

⚠️THREE KILLED, FOUR SERIOUSLY INJURED IN DEVASTATING HEAD ON COLLISION ON THE R614

Three people have tragically lost their lives and four others sustained serious injuries following a devastating head on collision on the R614 towards Bambshela on Saturday afternoon.

KZN VIP Emergency Medical Services, together with other emergency service providers, were dispatched to the scene after reports of a major motor vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, paramedics were met with a scene of absolute devastation. Four critically injured patients required extensive Advanced Life Support (ALS) intervention. Emergency medical teams worked rapidly to stabilize the patients at the scene before transporting them under urgent conditions to nearby medical facilities for further treatment.

Despite the best efforts of emergency personnel, three patients sustained fatal injuries and were sadly declared deceased on scene.

Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was temporarily closed while emergency services conducted rescue operations, treated the injured, and cleared the scene.

The exact circumstances leading up to the collision remain unknown at this stage and will form part of an investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS).

*Paving Truck Overturns: Ethekweni - KZN*

The eThekwini Fire Department, KZN VIP and Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) are currently (11:03) at the scene of an overturned FAW truck on Inanda Road near Tea Estate, KwaZulu-Natal.

The incident occurred at earlier today (Friday) after the truck, which was transporting employees of a paving company to a work site, reportedly overturned while attempting to avoid a vehicle.

Fourteen (14) occupants sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Emergency personnel treated and stabilised the injured at the scene before transporting them to various medical facilities for further treatment.

The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated.

⚠️WANTED COPPER THEFT SUSPECT APPREHENDED IN TRENANCE MANOR, PHOENIX

A wanted copper theft suspect was successfully apprehended by members of KZN VIP in the Trenance Park area of Phoenix on Thursday morning.

KZN VIP received information regarding a suspicious male who had allegedly been captured on CCTV footage in connection with a copper theft incident that occurred earlier this week in the Palmview area.

It is alleged that the suspect was later seen approaching a local car wash/scrap yard in the High Manor area. The information was immediately relayed to the KZN VIP Emergency Control Centre, which swiftly dispatched response officers to investigate.

Upon arrival, KZN VIP response officers located and apprehended the suspect without incident. The complainant subsequently confirmed that the individual was allegedly involved in the earlier copper theft incident, and the relevant SAPS case number was provided to responding officers.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) was immediately notified and responded to the scene. The suspect was placed under arrest and detained for further investigation and processing.

⚠️ FATAL HIJACKING CLAIMS ONE LIFE IN PHOENIX ON WEDNESDAY EVENING

A man has tragically lost his life following a violent hijacking in the Motlen, Northcroft area of Phoenix on Wednesday evening.

KZN VIP Security members responded after receiving multiple reports of a hijacking in progress and gunshots being fired in the area.

Upon arrival, responders located an adult Indian male who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. KZN VIP Emergency Medical personnel assessed the victim; however, he showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased at the scene.

Following the incident, tracking agents, together with KZN VIP Response Officers, launched an immediate search for the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was subsequently located abandoned in the Inanda Area It is alleged that the suspects opened fire on the tracking teams while fleeing the recovered vehicle before escaping on foot.

Additional response units were dispatched to assist in the search. The stolen vehicle has been successfully recovered.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) remained at the original crime scene, where investigations are underway. The circumstances surrounding the hijacking, fatal shooting, and the number of suspects involved are yet to be confirmed.

⚠️DECOMPOSED BODY DISCOVERED ALONG RAILWAY LINE IN EASTBURY, PHOENIX

A decomposed body of an adult male was discovered along the railway line on Eastbury Drive, Phoenix on Tuesday morning.

KZN VIP Emergency Services were alerted after a concerned resident investigated a foul smell in the area. Upon searching the vicinity, the resident discovered the body of an adult male suspended from a tree in an advanced state of decomposition.

KZN VIP Emergency Teams responded to the scene, the male declared deceased on scene by medics

Based on the initial observations, it is believed the incident may be consistent with an apparent su***de. However, the exact cause of death and circumstances leading up to the incident cannot be confirmed at this stage and remain the subject of an investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS).

SAPS attended the scene and have taken over the investigation. All emergency services were in attendance.

⚠️ PEDESTRIAN KILLED IN FATAL M41 COLLISION, PHOENIX

One person has sadly lost their life following a serious pedestrian collision on the M41, beneath the Cornubia Mall bridge, in the direction from Gateway towards Phoenix on Monday evening.

KZN VIP Emergency Medical Services responded to multiple reports of the incident. Upon arrival, paramedics found an adult Indian male who had sustained fatal injuries after allegedly being struck by a light motor vehicle while attempting to cross the busy highway.

Despite a thorough assessment by KZN VIP medics, the patient showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased at the scene.

The exact circumstances leading up to the collision cannot be confirmed at this stage and remain the subject of an investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS). All emergency services attended the scene.

KZN VIP would like to urge all pedestrians to avoid crossing busy highways and freeways, as doing so places both pedestrians and motorists at significant risk. Where pedestrian bridges and designated walkways are available, they should always be used. Before crossing any roadway, always ensure that it is safe to do so.
