Job Advertisement: Radiation Protection Officer (Shutdown – May)
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) for a planned shutdown project taking place in May. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety-focused professional to join a dynamic team in a high-performance environment.
Position: Radiation Protection Officer (RPO)
Contract Duration: Shutdown period (May)
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and control radiation exposure levels on site
• Ensure compliance with all radiation safety regulations and procedures
• Conduct radiation surveys and maintain accurate records
• Supervise radiographic operations and enforce safe working practices
• Provide guidance and support to radiography teams and other personnel
• Ensure proper use and calibration of radiation monitoring equipment
• Prepare and submit reports as required
Minimum Requirements:
• Valid Radiation Protection Officer certification
• Relevant experience in industrial radiography and shutdown environments
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety standards and legislation
• Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Valid medical fitness certificate (if required)
Advantageous:
• Experience in petrochemical or power generation shutdowns
• Additional NDT certifications (ISO 9712)

Position: PT / MPI Technicians
Location: Drakensberg Area
Qualification Requirement: ISO 9712 Certified
We are currently seeking qualified PT (Penetrant Testing) / MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) Technicians for a project based in the Drakensberg area. Candidates with multiple NDT disciplines will have a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform PT and MPI inspections in accordance with approved procedures and standards
• Identify surface and near-surface defects such as cracks, laps, and seams
• Accurately interpret, evaluate, and report inspection results
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and site requirements
• Maintain and care for testing equipment
• Work efficiently within project timelines and as part of a team

Minimum Requirements:
• ISO 9712 certification in PT and/or MPI (Level 2 preferred)
• Proven experience in industrial NDT inspections
• Additional NDT qualifications (e.g., UT, RT) will be advantageous
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and quality procedures
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments
• Good communication and reporting skills

• Duration: Project-based contract

We are currently seeking 10 qualified Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Technicians for a project based in the Drakensberg area. This is an excellent opportunity for certified professionals to work in a dynamic and safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform ultrasonic testing inspections in accordance with approved procedures
• Detect and evaluate material defects such as cracks, corrosion, and discontinuities
• Accurately interpret and report inspection results
• Ensure all work complies with relevant industry standards and safety regulations
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper calibration
• Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

Minimum Requirements:
• ISO 9712 UT certification (Level 2 preferred)
• Proven experience in ultrasonic testing within industrial environments
• Strong understanding of NDT methods and reporting standards
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and varying environments
• Valid medical fitness certificate (if required)

We are currently recruiting skilled and experienced personnel for an upcoming shutdown project in May 2026. We invite applications for the following positions:
• 20 x Thickness Testing Technicians
• 2 x Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Technicians
• 8 x Radiography (RT) Technicians
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-performance industrial environment on a time-critical shutdown project.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) in accordance with relevant standards and procedures
• Perform inspections on piping, vessels, and structural components
• Accurately record, interpret, and report inspection results
• Identify defects such as corrosion, cracking, and material degradation
• Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations and site requirements
• Work effectively within tight shutdown deadlines

Minimum Requirements:
• Relevant NDT certifications:
o Thickness Testing: Limited UT Level 1
o Ultrasonic Technicians: UT Level 2 (minimum)
o Radiography Technicians: RT Level 1 or 2
• Valid certifications and proof of competency
• Previous shutdown experience (highly advantageous)
• Strong understanding of safety standards and procedures
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment
• Reliable and physically fit for site work

Contract Details:
• Duration: Short-term (Shutdown period – May 2026)
• Location: Site-based (to be confirmed)
• Start Date: Prior to shutdown for induction (if required)
