Just me, a media badge and one of the biggest water conferences in Africa. 💙

I’ve been lucky enough to work with WISA for the past two years, and it's safe to say… I’ve now learnt a lot more about water than I ever thought I would. 💧😂

This week I’m behind the scenes capturing the people, the innovation the ministers and all the moments that make this industry quite a fascinating one to be part of.

Let’s make some content. 📸

Why would we have a serious photo when we can pout 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

Hanging out with Pemmy Majodina the Minister of water and sanitation has been a fun few days.

Came for the content. Stayed for the conversations. 😄 Sometimes the best part of a conference is the people you meet. A few hours with the Minister, lots of laughs, great chats, and I loved that she could laugh at herself too. 💙

If you’ve been following my journey for a while, you’ll know I’ve always had a soft spot for my skincare brands. 😉

So I’m incredibly excited to share that I’m working on ISDIN, creating social media content and supporting design work for their collateral and events.

ISDIN found me, again. Life has a funny way of bringing things back around, and there’s something incredibly rewarding about having your work speak for itself and lead to opportunities like this.

I can’t wait to share more of what we’ve been creating together.

It's all thanks to for trusting me with another incredible global brand and for giving me the opportunity to be part of the journey.

Here’s to beautiful content, exciting campaigns, event days and lots of SPF. ☀️💙🧡

It’s 2009.

Little old me was the only designer at Jalapeño Advertising. I honestly had no clue what I was doing half the time, but I loved every second of it.

One day I was designing for brands I’d grown up seeing on supermarket shelves, and the next I was trying to figure out how to get a die-cut brochure to print properly. Every project felt like a massive opportunity and it really was.

Looking back, I’m grateful for so much more than the portfolio though.

I learnt so much from the owner, Retta. Not just about design, but about what it actually takes to build a business. She showed up every day, looked after her clients, expected excellence, and she did it all with grace.

I don’t think she realised how much I was watching and learning. I don't think I realised this until recently either.

And one thing I’ll never forget… every year we’d celebrate our wins with a bottle of Moët. 🥂 It wasn’t about the champagne, it was about taking a moment to acknowledge how hard we’d worked. That’s always stuck with me.

Now, running Thoughtbox, I catch myself doing things because of those years. Caring about the little details. Looking after clients. Celebrating the wins, no matter how small. And most importantly, just showing up.

I thought I was there to learn design.

Turns out, I was learning how to build a business.

When someone starts a sentence with,
“Can you just…”

My mouth:
“Sure, no problem.”

My face:
…not so much. 😂

A little reminder from the designer behind the screen:

Just because AI exists doesn’t mean a great post happens in seconds.

Behind every post is someone moving things by 2 pixels.
Trying 14 fonts.
Testing 23 versions.
Changing it back to the first one.
Then making one last tweak, removing a packshot and then adding it back in...

So if you see a post you like, give it a like.

Trust me… somewhere, a designer earned it. ❤️

I turned my tears into watercolours. 💧

I really wish I could algebra. But I suppose that’s why the world needs balance.

I genuinely spend my days doing things like rearranging peanut butter jars until they “feel right” 😂🥜

Packing personalised gifts.
Filming content.
Fixing labels.
Styling shoots.
Designing packaging and POS.
And being completely "nuts" over tiny details nobody else probably notices.

But, this is the part I love most. Getting to build a brand properly, from the big campaign ideas right down to the little finishing touches.

PS: Mark’s allergic to nuts, so we’re currently accepting applications from brands that are slightly less life-threatening for him to live with 😂

It's thanks to agencies like for trusting my slightly chaotic creative brain and giving me the freedom to do what I love every day

And of course all the personalised gifting magic happens through Gifting.

What I’ve been up to this month when I say I’m “busy”. ✺

A lot of styling. Shooting. Editing. Moving food around by 2cm. Reheating meals because I took too long getting the shot. And turning my kitchen into a full-time content studio.

Food content might be one of my favourite things to create. There’s just something about turning everyday meals into something that feels beautiful, craveable, and a little bit editorial.
