When she came to us with a broken leg six weeks ago, Chloe weighed just 12.2kg. We hospitalised her while her leg healed and she's put on weight beautifully!

Chloe is almost 17kg now and should be ready to go home next week.

Go well, Chloe, and have a great weekend, PDSA people!

Today is a special birthday for our friend Marileen from Borcherds Paws, who this week had to deal with a horrific case of three dogs who were stabbed. (The dogs were brought to us for treatment and the case – https://www.facebook.com/reel/1095795766364434 – has been reported.)

If you would like to help Marileen – who sterilises and cares for animals in our community – our details are PDSA (SA) • First National Bank • account 5229 006 0089 • branch 250 655. Adding the reference "Borcherds" ensures your kind donation is propery allocated. (You can do the same for other welfare groups we work with, all of whom deserve support.)

Have a great day, Marileen!

The York High Animal Club brought us a bunny that was found in a forest.

They say: "Please don’t release pet rabbits into forests or the veld. Pet rabbits are domesticated animals and often don’t have the skills to survive on their own. They can struggle to find suitable food and shelter, fall victim to predators, become sick or injured, or suffer from exposure and starvation. They may also reproduce and create problems for wild rabbit populations and the environment.

"Releasing a pet is not giving it freedom; it is leaving it to fend for itself. If you can no longer care for a rabbit, please find a responsible home or rescue instead."
