BROWN-COLOURED WATER – BLANCO

George Municipality’s is aware that multiple areas across Blanco are currently experiencing brown-coloured water.

We are attending to the matter. Residents are assured that the water colour is expected to gradually subside and return to normal over the next few hours.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank residents for their patience and understanding.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF GEORGE MUNICIPAL OR AFFILIATED LOGO’S

George Municipality has noted a number of recent events posters where organisers have either used the George Municipal marketing logo or the George Tourism logo without the appropriate approval. The George Municipal Logo and Crest are registered as the intellectual property of the George Municipality in the Trademarks Office and as such can only be used by the George Municipality for official purposes, unless otherwise authorised by Council.

No business, organisation and/or individual has the right to use the George Municipal logo or any of the elements contained within the logo, in any social or printed media, and or including any marketing items such as caps, t-shirts, banners, posters and flyers etc.

This applies to the George Tourism logo as well as any other badges affiliated with the George Municipality i.e. Law Enforcement, Traffic and Fire Services. Where a business, organisation or individual is collaborating with a municipal department on a project, prior approval must always be requested before using the municipal logo in any format.

This will be granted on condition that the project and/or event is endorsed by the municipality officially, and that the product or marketing material which is produced is in good taste, not offensive and adheres to the guidelines as set out by the George Municipal Corporate Identity Manual.

Why: Your Title Deed prove you own your home.
It's important to note that the title deed will only be given to the new owner if they show their ID as proof of identity. If there are two owners, both must visit the offices together with their IDs before the title deed can be handed over. If the owner has passed away, the executor of the estate must visit the offices with their ID Document and Letter of Executorship.

Waarom: U Kaart en Transport (Titelakte) bewys dat u u huis besit.

Dit is belangrik om daarop te let dat die titelakte slegs aan die nuwe eienaar gegee sal word indien hulle hul ID as bewys van identiteit toon. Indien daar twee eienaars is, moet albei die kantore saam met hul ID's besoek voordat die titelakte oorhandig kan word. Indien die eienaar oorlede is, moet die eksekuteur van die boedel die kantore besoek met hul ID-dokument en Eksekuteursbrief.

Please be advised that the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development (DLRRD) has opened applications for the Integrated Land Reform and Rural Development Support Programme (ILRRDSP) for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 financial years.

The programme provides support aimed at enhancing food security, promoting rural enterprise development, strengthening agricultural value chains and revitalising land reform catalytic projects. Eligible applicants include rural households, subsistence farmers, communal producers, land reform beneficiaries, smallholder farmers, cooperatives, agri-SMMEs, aggregated producers and qualifying catalytic land reform projects.

Meter Reading Service Provider

Londoloza Utility Solutions is the appointed service provider to deliver meter reading services.

Meter readers wear the following gear to verify themselves:
• A navy blue raincoat (if it's cold or raining)
• A yellow branded safety vest.
• A unique identification card.
• Grey overall pants with safety boots.

Should a property owner have any questions/enquiries regarding the meter readers, please call Londoloza on the Telephone number: 012 492 6600 or Cell/WhatsApp line at 081 602 3425.

Self-readings are still allowed and can be submitted by making use of the following methods:

• Submit your meter reading by email to [email protected], including the accountholder’s name, contact details, George Municipal account number, and date of reading.
• Submit your meter reading using the My Smart City – George App
 Go to your Apps home screen
 Tap on the Municipal Self Meter Readings icon
 Tap the Add Account and Complete all relevant fields (Please note that you can only proceed once you have selected your location under your profile.)
 Once done, tap Save Details.

Special Waste Removal Service for Condemned Foodstuffs

The George Municipality would like to inform all food premises, businesses, and individuals within the George Municipal area that a special waste removal service, specifically for condemned foodstuffs, is available at a fee of R 2073.52 (VAT inclusive), as per the approved tariff structure.

Please note that this service is only for collecting and disposing of condemned foodstuffs. It does not replace the function of the Garden Route District Municipal Health Services, which provides certification for the proof of disposal and destruction of condemned foodstuffs.
