25 Years of Community. 25 Years of Appreciation. 💚

As part of our 25-year celebration, we wanted to take a moment to thank the people who make a difference every single day.

Instead of cutting a cake, we treated each member of our dedicated team to a burger, chips and a cold drink as a small token of appreciation for their hard work, commitment and contribution to the Green Point precinct.

Whether they've been with us for many years or only a short time, every staff member has played a part in our journey.

Thank you for your dedication, your service and for helping make Green Point a safer, cleaner and better place to live, work and visit. Here's to the next chapter together! 🎉

🎉 Green Point CID Turns 25!

Today we celebrate 25 years of serving the Green Point community.

Looking back, I am incredibly proud of how far we've come. What started as a shared vision has grown into one of Cape Town's most vibrant and well-managed neighbourhoods, thanks to the support of our property owners, residents, businesses, partners and our dedicated GPCID team.

To everyone who has been part of this journey - thank you. Your trust, commitment and collaboration have made this milestone possible.

While we're proud of what we've achieved together over the past 25 years, we're even more excited about what lies ahead as we continue working to make Green Point an even safer, cleaner and better place for everyone.

How can GPOKCID help you? 🚧🌳

Keeping our precinct clean, safe and well-maintained is all part of what we do every day.

Today, our Maintenance Team:
🌳 Cleared tree branches and green waste from the pavement, restoring a safe and tidy pedestrian walkway.
🚗 Repainted faded parking bay markings to improve visibility and help maintain orderly parking throughout the precinct.

These are the everyday tasks that help keep Green Point and Oranje-Kloof looking their best for everyone who lives, works and visits here.

🚔 Safer communities are built through partnership.

The latest achievements by the LPR User Group highlight the impact of collaboration between law enforcement, Community Improvement Districts, neighbourhood watches, security providers and communities working together.

Over the past seven weeks:
✅ More than 100 suspects detained
🚗 15 stolen vehicles recovered
🔫 3 fi****ms recovered

These successes demonstrate how technology, intelligence sharing and coordinated action continue to make a real difference in removing criminals from our streets and improving public safety.

GPOKCID is proud to work alongside our law enforcement and community partners in creating a safer Green Point and Oranje-Kloof for everyone.

🛠️ How Can GPOKCID Help You?

Keeping our streets and sidewalks safe doesn't stop at cleaning and landscaping. GPOKCID's Maintenance Team also carries out repairs to public infrastructure throughout the precinct.

Recently, the team was hard at work repairing damaged curb stones at the corner of Dixon Street and Somerset Road. Well-maintained pavements and curbs help to:

✅ Improve pedestrian safety and accessibility
✅ Prevent further damage to surrounding infrastructure
✅ Enhance the appearance of the public environment
✅ Create safer and more walkable streets for residents and visitors

Through ongoing maintenance and repairs, GPOKCID helps ensure that Green Point and Oranje-Kloof remain clean, safe, and welcoming for all.
