Can you spot the difference?
A well-maintained LPG setup is about more than appearance. Before using your cylinder, take a moment to check the basics:
✓ The seal is intact and matches the cylinder
✓ The cylinder is free from visible rust, dents or damage
✓ The regulator is in good condition
✓ The hose is flexible, with no cracks, hardening or discolouration
If something looks worn or damaged, don’t take the risk. Have it checked or replaced before use.
Safety starts with the small checks.

Did you know that the revalidation date on a cylinder is one of the checks we look at?

This is part of making sure the cylinder is still within its approved inspection period and ready for safe use.

It’s one of the simple checks that matter.

Going away? Don’t leave gas trapped in the lines.

Closing the valve at your LPG cylinder stops the supply, but a small amount of gas may remain in the pipes and appliance.

Before leaving for an extended period, close the cylinder valve. If your appliance instructions allow, switch on your appliance and safely burn off any remaining gas until the flame goes out, then make sure the appliance controls are turned OFF.

Why it matters: LPG is heavier than air. If a leak occurs in a closed, poorly ventilated home, gas can collect at low level and may ignite if it reaches an ignition source.

Going away? Shut off. Clear the line. Stay safe.
