Child p**n case postponed again

A Hermanus IT technician’s pre-trial hearing on charges relating to the alleged possession of child sexual abuse material has been postponed because of technical difficulties. The parties were unable to view the footage, while an analyst continues compiling and classifying the material for the defence.

The accused, arrested in June 2025 following an international tip-off, remains free on R10 000 bail. He cannot be identified because he has not pleaded. The case will return to the Hermanus Court on 27 November.

Springboks and politicians

The Springboks have become far more than a rugby team, inspiring unity, pride and shared identity across South Africa. Their success, strengthened by Rassie Erasmus’s powerful philosophy, reminds people that differences can be set aside in pursuit of a common goal.

As elections approach, this example offers a lesson for politicians: leadership should bring communities together, not exploit division or turn genuine grief into political theatre. The Boks cannot solve every problem, but they show what collective spirit can achieve.
