Hermanus Ratepayers Association

As a watchdog body we seek to maintain close co-operation with the Overstrand Municipality and the Western Cape Province to ensure that future developments are in keeping with the preservation of the character and natural beauty of Hermanus in a sustainable manner. We also try to ensure that Municipal services are carried out in a cost-effective, transparent and accountable manner. The geographical area covered by the HRA is Ward 3 and part of Ward 4 i.e. from the Klein River Lagoon in the east to the New Harbour in the west and stretching from the coastline up into the southern slopes of Fernkloof Nature Reserve. Membership is open to all ratepayers in the area and we need your continued support to enable us to work for you. The greatest achievement we could attain is to bring about lasting peace and harmony, protection and respect and value of our natural and built environment for the ratepayers of Hermanus.
