From the rhythms we grew up with to the songs that bring generations together, South African music tells stories of who we are, where we come from and how we celebrate.

This Heritage Day, we’re celebrating the sounds that make Mzansi, Mzansi.

There are songs we come across in different languages that we don’t fully understand, but somehow they still connect with us.

The rhythm, the emotion, the energy, it all comes through without needing to know every word.

What’s that one song in a different language that you love, even though you don’t understand the lyrics?

If you could pick ONE South African song to represent your heritage, your memories or simply your Mzansi pride, what would it be?

This September, we’re turning up the volume and welcoming the longer days and warmer weather with good energy, good music and all the sounds that make us feel alive.

No weekend is complete without a great soundtrack.
Help us compile the ultimate weekend playlist by sharing the song you can't stop listening to.

Imagine this... your entire year's playlist can only be ONE local artist.
No skipping. No switching. No "just one song" from someone else.
Who's getting you through the rest of the year?

Behind every great musician is an instrument that brings their vision to life.

From guitars and keyboards to drums, brass, and strings, every instrument plays a part in creating the music we know and love.

Born in the streets of South Africa and loved across the globe, Amapiano is known for its signature drums, soulful melodies, and rhythms.

It's a genre that continues to evolve while bringing people together through music and dance routines!
