A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO BELINDA ASLETT! 🐐💙

Some donations come with a little extra personality! 😂🐐

A huge thank you to Belinda Aslett for her generous donation of goat pellets and jumble.

Sullivan and Gilbert clearly wanted to make sure there was no delay in getting to the good stuff! 😂 The moment the bag of pellets was placed down, these two came running over and promptly tried to open the bag themselves!

We absolutely loved seeing their excitement. 🥰

Thank you, Belinda, for supporting our animals in more ways than one! 🐐🐾💙

THANK YOU, GALLAGHER! 🐾💙

A huge thank you to Gallagher Convention Centre for this incredibly useful donation of elevated dog beds and disposable fly traps! 🐶🐾

The elevated beds will give the dogs in our care a comfortable place to rest while keeping them off the ground, and the fly traps are an important practical addition to help us maintain a clean and comfortable environment.

We truly appreciate Gallagher’s continued support and generosity. Donations like these make a very real difference to the day-to-day care of the animals who depend on us. 💙

Thank you, Gallagher, for helping us care for our animals! 🐾

A BIG THANK YOU TO MICA MIDWAY MEWS! 🐾💙

Our animals are always grateful for a full bowl — and this wonderful food donation from Mica Midway Mews will go a long way towards keeping tails wagging and tummies full! 🐶🐱

Thank you for your generosity and for supporting the animals in our care. Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference to the work we do. 💙

Thank you, Mica Midway Mews, for helping us feed the animals who depend on us! 🐾

HAPPY TAILS! 🐾💙

Mila has found her forever family! 🥰

We are so happy to see this sweet girl heading home with the Noordwyk family, where a lifetime of love, cuddles and happy adventures awaits her.

Wishing Mila and her new family many wonderful years together. 💕🐾

Happy Tails, Mila! 🏡🐶💙

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ZWANGA! 🎉🐾

Today we celebrate our wonderful Kennel Assistant and trusted driver, Zwanga Murego! 💙

No matter how busy the day gets, Zwanga always has a smile on his face and is ready to jump in, get behind the wheel and go wherever an animal needs him. 🐾🚗

From transporting animals to their veterinary appointments to heading out to assist when help is needed, Zwanga is someone our team can always count on.

Thank you for your dedication, kindness and that infectious smile, Zwanga! We are so grateful to have you as part of the Midrand SPCA family. 💙

Happy Birthday! May the year ahead be filled with happiness, blessings and plenty of reasons to smile! 🎂🎉🐾

Every year on 𝟰 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿, people around the world come together to recognise the importance of animal welfare and to raise awareness about the protection and responsible care of animals.

It is a day to celebrate the animals who share our lives — but also to remember those who are neglected, abandoned, abused or simply have no one to speak for them.

For organisations like Midrand SPCA, animal welfare is not just about one day.

It means responding when an animal is in danger.
It means investigating cruelty.
It means providing essential care.
It means educating communities.
It means working to prevent suffering.
And it means giving animals a voice when they cannot speak for themselves.

Behind every intervention is a cost — and every contribution helps us continue this work.

Our area of operation stretches across a vast and continually expanding footprint — including Kyalami, Midstream, Waterfall City, Glenferness, Blue Valley, Blue Hills, Ivory Park, Rabie Ridge, Randjesfontein and many more communities.

Our communities are growing. New developments are expanding the area we serve, more infrastructure is being built, and more people are moving into these communities.

Our small team continues to respond to cruelty and neglect, attend complaints, conduct proactive inspections, rescue animals and protect those who cannot protect themselves.

But while our workload is 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴, our funding is 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴.

We need your help to keep up please.

If you live in one of the communities shown above, 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗣𝗖𝗔 is your local animal welfare organisation.

A growing area needs an animal welfare organisation with the resources to keep up.

Dumped. Alone. Left to die.

This poor dog was abandoned in an area surrounded by rubbish, exposed to the elements and left with no one to help him.

But someone did see him.

A young boy came across the dog and, not knowing what else to do, searched online for the SPCA's number and called us for help.

That young boy is our hero. ❤️

Because while someone else chose to walk away, 𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Inspector Jerry Seemise and Inspector Richman Sidbande immediately responded and the dog was brought to safety.

But this story should never have happened in the first place.

Under South Africa's Animals Protection Act 71 of 1962, abandoning an animal, deliberately or without reasonable cause or excuse, in circumstances likely to cause unnecessary suffering is an offence. A person found guilty can face criminal prosecution and a fine or imprisonment.

Sometimes, the most responsible thing you can do is 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽.

And sometimes, all it takes is one person who cares enough to make a call. 💙

Thank you to this young boy for choosing to make the call, and to our Inspectors for always taking the call! 💙

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPHEN! 🎂🐾

Today we celebrate a very special member of our team! 💙

Stephen brings kindness, dedication and a genuine love for animals to everything he does. The animals in his care are lucky to have him — and so are we!

Thank you for everything you do, Stephen. We hope your birthday is as wonderful as you are! 🎉🐾💙
