Sand, bricks, and a business growing faster than its systems could
keep up.
That was Zinathi Sand & Bricks one of our clients in the
construction materials space. More orders. More to coordinate. IT
that had started to feel like a bottleneck rather than a backbone.
We rebuilt the foundation: Microsoft 365 for email and
collaboration, secure document storage, and managed support
working quietly in the background.
“Their support team is responsive, and they have helped ensure
our technology is reliable and secure as our business continues to
grow.” — Sonwabo Mbongi, Operations Manager, Zinathi Sand & Bricks.
The result is technology that grows with the business, not against it.
Outgrowing your IT? Let’s talk.

Many industrial businesses know they need to "do Industry 4.0", but are stuck between legacy systems, siloed data and complex vendor jargon.
Liyatech Solution's approach simplifies that complexity: we connect your existing machines, PLCs, and sensors to Microsoft Azure, use Industrial IoT platforms to standardise and secure the data, and then surface it in Power BI so leadership has a single source of truth for operations.
This enables predictive mastery across the value chain, spotting anomalies before they become breakdowns, understanding patterns in downtime and scrap, and aligning production plans with real capacity rather than
assumptions.
Over time, your plant evolves from reacting to yesterday's reports to running on forward-looking insights that directly support safety, OEE and profitability.

Most breaches don't happen because a firewall failed; they happen because something, or someone, was trusted by default.
Zero Trust exists to remove that blind spot by treating every access request as untrusted until proven otherwise, regardless of its source.
Instead of assuming that anyone on the internal network is safe, it verifies identity, checks the device, and grants only the minimum access needed for the task.
In practice, you'll see role‑based and attribute‑based access, mandatory MFA, continuous monitoring, and regular checks that devices and users still meet your policies. Zero Trust is not a single platform or reserved for big enterprises; it's a long‑term security posture you build in stages and maintain over time.
Given how aggressively South African organisations are being targeted, the question isn't "do we need Zero Trust?" but "which account, system, or process are we going to start with this quarter?

Right now, the most common cyber attacks hitting South African organisations are not "Hollywood hacks" 😅
But everyday tactics that exploit people, weak controls, and rushed cloud adoption. Phishing and social engineering remain the primary entry point, with attackers impersonating suppliers, executives, and banks to trick staff into clicking links or sharing credentials.
Ransomware-as-a-Service and data extortion are surging, with reports showing a sharp rise in both ransom demands and in cases where data is not just encrypted but also stolen and threatened with public release.
Compromised identities and credentials are now one of the most costly attack vectors worldwide, with stolen passwords, reused logins, and info stealer logs giving attackers "legitimate" access to your systems.
On top of that, supply chain and third‑party compromises can bypass even strong internal controls if your vendors are less secure.
At the same time, cloud misconfigurations and exposed APIs create direct pathways into data when access and network rules are not properly configured.
If your cyber strategy doesn't actively address all five of these vectors, This leaves the door open for attackers.

Did you know South Africa is now considered the most targeted country in Africa for cyberattacks?
Organisations face more than 2,000 attempted attacks every week. From ransomware and phishing to credential stuffing and supply chain compromises, local businesses are being probed constantly for weaknesses, often by their least prepared staff and third parties.
This is not just a "big enterprise" problem: SMBs, municipalities, and even schools are increasingly in the firing line because attackers know they typically have weaker controls and limited incident response capabilities.
If your cyber awareness programme is a once-a-year slide deck, and your team can't clearly explain how to spot a suspicious email, report an incident, or respond to a breach, then your organisation is carrying far more risk than you think.

“Are we protected?” is no longer the right question.
“Can you show me the evidence?"
In a South African context, with rising data breaches and stricter POPIA expectations, confidence without uptime reports, incident logs, compliance status, and cyber assessments is just a blind spot.
This graphic walks through three conversations every SA CEO should lead: testing whether protection is real or assumed, checking if the IT roadmap actually reflects the business growth plan for the next 24 months, and pressure-testing what happens if systems go down tomorrow in specific, operational terms.
If your leadership team can't answer with concrete data and a documented business continuity plan, the risk sits squarely at the top.

Most businesses say they "have IT sorted" when what they really have is IT support, not IT strategy....
Support is about resolving incidents, keeping systems up, and reacting when something breaks or a ticket is logged. Strategy enables business outcomes, plans 3–5 years, and uses technology intentionally to support growth, resilience, and competitiveness.
In this post, I unpack the real difference between support and strategy across focus, approach, triggers, outcomes, relationships, planning horizon, and business alignment.
By the end, you'll be able to tell whether your current provider is just a service desk or a strategic technology partner that walks alongside your business as it grows.

If your IT provider went offline tomorrow… would your
business survive the week? 🤔
Most SMEs only realise there’s a problem when systems
are already down, data is at risk, or POPIA has been quietly
ignored for months.
In this carousel, I share 5 questions every business should
be asking their IT provider right now: When was the last
time you proactively reviewed our IT environment?
Can you show us 90 days of uptime and the number of incidents
per minute? How are you keeping us POPIA compliant as we grow?
What’s on our 12‑month technology roadmap?
What happens to our business if you go offline?
If your provider can’t answer these clearly, you don’t have
a partner. You have a support desk. What’s one question
you’ve never asked your IT provider—but should?
