Monday was World Rabies Day, and we have received so many wonderful photographs of our veterinarians working to protect animals and communities across South Africa.

Below is Del Jones (AWA) vaccinating dogs against rabies on behalf of John Moore CVC in a community outside Robertson in the Western Cape.

Every vaccination helps protect an animal, a family and a community from this deadly but entirely preventable disease. šŸ•šŸ’‰

NOT A SINGLE CALL FOR MAC AND WE HONESTLY CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY!

Most dogs arrive at our clinic either hurt or sick. Mac arrived at just 8 months old, and the only thing ā€˜wrong’ with him is that his owners didn’t want him anymore because he was no longer a cute puppy, he was unwanted, basically he was dumped☹

But spend a little time with him and you’ll quickly realise that his previous owners must have been looking for something very different, because they clearly failed to see what was right under their noses.

Mac is the kind of dog who greets life with his whole heart - tail wagging, smile ready, in fact he is always smiling, and absolutely delighted to see people and other dogs.

He’s young, social, healthy, sterilised, and vaccinated, but most importantly, he’s still at the perfect age to learn. With consistency, patience and someone willing to show him the ropes, this happy boy has every opportunity to grow into an incredible companion.

We don’t want Mac’s story to be about the family who gave up on him.

We want it to be about the family who finally saw him for what he is - a beautiful young dog with so much love to give.

Mac is with us at our clinic in Fouriesburg, Free State, but we have no re-homing restrictions and can adopt nationally.

Our standard adoption process includes a home check, and the adoption fee is R750.

And if Mac isn’t your dog, perhaps you know someone whose dog-shaped gap he could fill. Sharing this post could be the small action that changes everything for him. šŸ¾ā¤ļø

We are getting quite desperate with so many beautiful dogs of all different ages and sizes and not a single application has come through. As our camp capacity is already stretched beyond capacity, we really need your support in helping find dogs home.

Can you please share our adoption posts far and wide? Thank you
