Huge congratulations to Noah Rassou (Grade 12), who competed in the South African Programming Olympiad between July and October this year.
Of the nearly 1,500 learners who entered the first round, Noah was one of only 13 to progress to the third and final round. He secured his place among the national finalists with an outstanding performance in Round 2, where he ranked among the top three learners in the Western Cape.
Noah went on to receive an Honourable Mention in the final round, placing him among the top ten finalists nationally and earning him a R2,500 cash prize. This is the second consecutive year that he has been recognised at the Olympiad’s final round.
Well done, Noah, on this outstanding achievement!

It was a busy holiday for our cricket teams, with the various festivals providing some excellent performances despite challenging weather conditions.
Our First Team managed just one match at Cape Schools Cricket Week in Makhanda due to the rain, where they recorded a nine-wicket victory over Queens College. Captain Benjamin Blackburn led from the front with 5/18, while Aqeel Waggie produced a superb 62 not out off 33 balls.
At the Michaelhouse Festival, the U17s recorded three impressive victories, beating Hilton by eight wickets, Maritzburg College by four wickets and Michaelhouse A by 41 runs. Calum Sonderup stood out with an unbeaten 54 against Hilton, while Josh Anderson contributed a well-played 73 against Michaelhouse A.
The U15s also enjoyed a successful Grey Festival, defeating a strong Grey College side. Captain Andrew Rookledge scored an impressive 82 and 30 not out in a first innings victory.
At the Shaun Po***ck Festival, the U14s recorded a nine-wicket win over Hans Moore, with Daniel Schaeffer scoring 81. Liam Brand added an unbeaten 84 in a four-wicket victory over Cornwall Hill, with the team also securing a win over Volkskool Potchefstroom.
A promising start across the age groups as we look ahead to an exciting cricket season.

This morning, the Junior School was delighted to welcome the Matric Class of 2026 back to where their SACS journey began.
The boys, who were the Grade 7 Class of 2021, were welcomed by Mr Skeeles and our current Grade 7 Guardians of the Banner. In what has become a special SACS tradition, each Matric boy also received a handmade card from a Grade 1 boy.
The Matrics joined the Junior School boys in singing One Small Step and the school song, before SACS High Head Boy Danny Wightman and Josh Goulding, who was a Guardian of the Banner in 2021, shared some memories of their time in the Junior School.
It was a lovely morning of connection between the Junior School boys and the Matric Class as they reflected on their shared SACS journey.
We wish the Class of 2026 all the very best as they head into their final exams and look forward to seeing all that lies ahead for them.

Our U15s have had a tougher tournament so far at the Ian Melliar Cup, finding themselves in a highly competitive pool. They come off a fantastic 6–4 win over St John’s last night and face KES in the playoffs at 11:10 this morning.

Massive congratulations to Grade 12 learners Cameron Groves and Josh Goulding, who have been awarded their Triple Blues for excellence in academics, music and hockey.
To qualify for a Triple Blue, learners must earn a Full Blue in academics, a sport and a cultural activity, such as music, debating or drama.
Since records began in 1999, just 24 SACS men have achieved this prestigious accolade. Cameron and Josh now join this distinguished group as the 25th and 26th SACS men to be awarded a Triple Blue.
Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, Cameron and Josh - so well deserved.
