Yesterday our team brought their heritage to life with colour, pride and plenty of smiles. These moments remind us how much we can learn from one another and how strong we are together.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our colleague, Silindile Happiness Maphumulo.

Silindile was a kind and friendly person whose warm smile touched everyone around her. In January, she would have celebrated ten years as part of the Packaging World family—a decade of dedicated service and many cherished memories.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Silindile’s family, friends and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Rest in peace, Silindile.

Yesterday, across our team, staff wore black as a visible act of remembrance and solidarity—for the women whose lives have been taken, for their grieving families, and for every woman who deserves to live without fear.

This photograph represents more than a shared colour. It represents a shared message: violence against women cannot be normalised, ignored or met with silence.

To every member of our team who participated—thank you for standing together and helping this message be seen.

We remember them. We stand with women. We call for accountability, justice and meaningful change.

Enough is enough.

This Friday, we wear black.

Eight women. Eight lives lost. Eight families facing a loss no family should ever have to endure.

On Friday, 18 September, Packaging World stands in solidarity with women across South Africa. We invite our employees, customers, industry partners, friends and communities to wear black—not as a fashion statement, but as a visible symbol of remembrance, unity and support.

We honour the women whose lives were taken.
We stand beside their families.
We stand with survivors.
And we stand for every woman’s right to live freely and without fear.

Wear black. Remember their lives. Stand together.

Even in silence, our collective presence sends a powerful message.
