🐾❤️ A DOGWORKS CLIENT STORY — BALOO’S JOURNEY ❤️🐾

Meet Baloo, a beautiful Burmese Mountain Dog, and his best friend Maue, a gorgeous Weimaraner, lovingly owned by Johnathan and Nadia.

Our journey with these two beautiful pups began just over 3 years ago, when Baloo was still just a puppy. From those very first puppy grooms, Baloo quickly became so much more than just a client — he became part of the Dogworks family. 🐶❤️

Earlier this year, our hearts were broken when Baloo suffered a spinal stroke. Michelle, our Head Groomer, has formed an incredibly special bond with Baloo and was absolutely devastated.

At that point, grooming was no longer important.

Baloo was. ❤️

Michelle immediately put everything aside to visit this beautiful boy as often as possible while he received treatment at Fourways Veterinary Hospital.

When Baloo was moved to an animal rehabilitation centre for further recovery, Michelle continued to visit him — and continued to groom and care for him through one of the most difficult periods of his life.

There were moments when nobody knew what Baloo's future would look like.

Would he ever walk properly again?
Would he ever return to the happy, playful boy we knew?

But Baloo never stopped fighting. ❤️🐾

After extensive treatment and rehabilitation, Baloo finally returned home. His recovery has not been easy, and there were no guarantees that he would ever completely return to his old self.

But this incredible boy has continued to show us just how strong he really is.

Today, Baloo is almost back to his old self! 🥹❤️

Watching his progress has been incredibly emotional for everyone who loves him.

Michelle's love, patience and compassion for this big boy have never wavered. She has been there for Baloo every step of the way — not simply as his groomer, but as someone who genuinely loves him.

At Dogworks, we believe our clients aren't just dogs on a grooming schedule.

They become our family. 🐾❤️

Baloo's story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the smallest steps forward are the biggest victories.

Keep fighting, Baloo. We are so incredibly proud of you, big boy! ❤️🐶
