On 24 September 1975, the journey of Thapelo Professor Ngaka Molelotuka Mokhutshoane began — a journey that would grow beyond the boundaries of an individual life and become intertwined with stories, people, culture, heritage, creativity and the pursuit of meaningful legacy.

Eliminations & Grand Finals •

The journey that began in the kasi is now reaching its defining moment.

The Kasi 2 Kasi DJ’s Competition brings 15 talented DJs together at Masakeng, Middleton C, Atamelang, where skill, creativity, musical identity and the energy of the crowd will take centre stage.

This is more than a DJ competition. It is a celebration of the sound, spirit, culture and creative energy of our villages and townships—a platform where emerging DJs are given an opportunity to demonstrate what they can create when the decks become their voice.

From the opening beat to the final selection, the Eliminations and Grand Finals will challenge the DJs to bring their individual sound, stage presence, technical ability, musical selection and ability to connect with the audience.

THE GRAND PRIZES

The final three DJs will walk away with prize money recognising their achievement:

🥇 1st Prize Winner — R20 000
🥈 2nd Prize Winner — R15 000
🥉 3rd Prize Winner — R10 000

But beyond the prize money lies something even bigger—the opportunity to be seen, heard and remembered as part of a growing grassroots creative movement.

Kasi 2 Kasi is about creating pathways from talent to opportunity, culture to enterprise, and local creativity to sustainable value.

The sound of “Botshelo Ke Eng” is set to take centre stage as Trechyson Molly vx joins the headline lineup for the Kasi 2 Kasi Kuze Kuse 626 Music Experience.

Trechyson Molly vx, together with DJ Promatic SA and Dendofela, released Botshelo Ke Eng on 13 February 2026. The Amapiano track reflects on life, loss, remembrance and the question, “Botshelo ke eng?” — What is life?

Now the song's powerful message and sound come to Masakeng, Atamelang, as Kasi 2 Kasi brings together DJs, music lovers and the wider township creative community for its Grand Finale and Kuze Kuse 626 Music Experience.
