At around the age of 3 children can understand turn taking but they may not be able to consistently share till around school age. Don't force toddlers to share; it actually delays the development of sharing skills. Kids need to feel secure in their ownership before they can share. Instead, introduce the concept of taking turns. (“It's Billy's turn to use the car. Then it will be your turn. I'll help you wait.").

Sharing is something that needs to be taught, but never forced. Learning to share is a process and it starts with turn taking. When children learn that taking turns doesn't mean they lose the toy, they will feel safe to share. With young children you could hug a toy and then give it to them to hug. Or roll a ball to them. Make sure you are saying "my turn, your turn" so they understand the concept. If they find this particularly difficult you can use a timer so the turn has an end.
Older children can practice turn taking by playing board games or card games. It is helpful to point out that games are more fun when we share.

If you've ever heard "don't label your child"... or, if you're worried about possible negative outcomes of using labels...

When used the wrong way, labels can definitely cause harm... but when used well, they can be SO empowering.

Personally, I am quick to use labels that help others better understand me. I have embraced many in my life.

Some people have cautioned me (with good intention) about labeling my kids. But I won't shy away from using relevant labels to help people better understand them and their needs. Particularly when it comes to education.

Also, using relevant labels in appropriate contexts reduces the stigma of those labels. 💞

When a child presents with low muscle tone, the muscles' tension is not sufficient to assume and maintain different postures (e.g., sitting at a desk for extended periods while doing activities like reading and writing).

For this reason, children with low muscle tone often experience tiredness, battles with gross and fine motor skills, and often have difficulty sustaining their attention for long periods.

A child with low muscle tone often reveals a weak body posture, their movements are clumsy, and they find large motor movements such as balance and coordination challenging. These children also quickly get tired, struggle to sit upright and quiet on a chair for long periods and tend to get fidgety soon. They also often experience problems with fine motor tasks such as drawing, coloring and writing,
