POSITION: Property & Asset Manager
Location: Braamfontein, JHB, ZA

Role and Responsibilities: At the heart of the Portfolio Optimisation and Operational Efficiency function and empowered to deliver on the company’s mission to provide a leading student product and experience.
In respect of Asset Management, the incumbent is responsible for the strategic and operational optimisation of the property portfolio. The incumbent is expected to make recommendations for improving performance, be it by identifying cost saving opportunities, maximising revenue, and driving implementation thereof, or by identifying underperforming assets that need to cycle out and be replaced by performing assets and driving implementation of replacing such assets.
In respect of Property Acquisitions, the incumbent is responsible for the identification, vetting and acquisition of properties that meet the target location, scale, configuration, and investment return parameters. The incumbent is expected to manage and guide opportunities through a pipeline funnel from identification through to recommendation to the Investment Committee and eventually through to acquisition and development.

Minimum experience and requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
• 3/4-year qualification in Built Environment/ Property Studies, Finance or Economics
• Postgraduate qualifications will be an advantage

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• At least 10 years’ experience in a Real Estate environment, in the same role.
• Property Development Management experience of 3 years or more will be an advantage.

Head: Financial Reporting (Public Sector)

PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE

The key purpose of this role is the day to day management of the Finance department to ensure efficient running of the unit and accurate reporting of accounts.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, MEASURES & INTERFACES

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Finance will be responsible for:

- Develop, maintain and implement proper operational controls for financial efficiency;

- Ensure complete operational compliance with manuals and policies, Board and Management financial instructions and any applicable agreements/regulations;

- Update the policies timeously with the changes in the regulations and instructions from Board and Management

- Ensure that proper books of accounts of ECIC are kept;

- Ensure that financial reports (including performance analysis and statutory returns) are timeously prepared for stakeholders such as Board and Management, Prudential Authority, Financial Sector Conduct Authority, National Treasury, SARS and the DTIC;

- Prepare the Annual Financial Statements in accordance to IFRS and client’s accounting policies;

- Ensure that all standing instructions requiring any input control or action by the finance department are met and observed precisely and correctly at all times;

- Supervise the work performed by the Reporting accountant;

- Manage relationship with internal and external stakeholders;

- Co-ordinate with internal and external auditors;

Prepare the audit file;

- Review bank recons and cash flows;

Role Purpose
