The Rise Up Movement NPO is a vetted member of the The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DoJ & CD) KZN Trafficking in Persons (TIP) initiative.
We recently participated in the KwaZulu-Natal Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Workshop, hosted by the Department of Justice & Constitutional Development, focusing on legislation, victim identification and support, stakeholder responsibilities, South African Police Service National Instructions, implementation challenges and practical solutions.
But awareness must lead to action. We call on communities, organisations, law enforcement, businesses and individuals to remain vigilant, speak up, report suspected trafficking, and work together to protect vulnerable people.
If you see something, say something. If you suspect trafficking, report it. Silence protects traffickers informed and engaged communities can help protect victims.
Stand up. Speak out. Take action. Together, we can help combat human trafficking in KwaZulu-Natal.

MATRIC PROM & AFTER-PARTY SAFETY
The Rise Up Movement Celebrate the achievement but make safety part of the plan.
Know where you are going, who you are with, how you are getting home, and keep trusted parents/guardians informed.
Be alert around alcohol and beverages, never drive impaired, and seek help if something feels wrong.
Accountability matters. False information and unverified reports can divert police, medical and emergency resources away from people who genuinely need help.
Report genuine incidents truthfully and responsibly.
Parents and learners: talk before the event, agree on plans, check-ins, transport and emergency contacts.

The Rise Up Movement Despite the challenging weather conditions, members of the community stood together and showed up for a silent demonstration against the devastating scourge of Gender-Based Violence.
Their presence is a powerful reminder of the strength of community solidarity.
When we stand together, our collective voice becomes stronger, our message becomes louder, and our commitment to protecting women and children becomes undeniable.
The weather could not break our unity. It could not weaken our resolve.
Together, we stand against GBV. Together, we protect our communities.
Together, we can create safer spaces for women and children across South Africa.

The Rise Up Movement NPO invites the community to join a Silent Demonstration in remembrance of the eight women whose lives were tragically cut short.

SAFETY IS A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY
The Rise Up Movement Crime and abuse can happen anywhere in homes, public spaces, schools, businesses, entertainment venues, liquor outlets, transport areas and other places where people may be vulnerable or isolated.
Our communities must stay alert, recognise risks, speak up and look out for one another.
