But perhaps writing a new chapter doesn’t always mean doing more.

Sometimes, the bravest thing we can do in midlife is give ourselves permission to slow down.

Permission to rest without feeling guilty ( still WIP for me 😁)

To stop measuring our worth by how much we achieve.

To listen to our bodies instead of constantly pushing them.

To have compassion for the woman we have become — shaped by everything she has lived, loved, lost, learnt and overcome.

And permission to embrace where we are right now, rather than constantly trying to become a younger, better, more productive version of ourselves.

Maybe the next chapter isn't about reinventing yourself at all.

Maybe it's about meeting yourself where you are, with a little more kindness.

And asking: What do I need now? What would feel good now? What can I let go of?

There is courage in moving forward.

But there is courage in slowing down, too. ❤
What are you giving yourself permission to do in this chapter of your life?

A visit to La Galerie Dior in Paris…

Beyond the extraordinary dresses and craftsmanship, what fascinated me most was discovering how Christian Dior’s childhood love of flowers became a thread running through his entire creative world.

Decades later, the flowers are still blooming embroidered, sculpted, printed and endlessly reimagined. 🌸

A beautiful reminder that what inspires us early in life can stay with us forever.

Now I’m curious… what is something you loved as a child that still inspires you today?

Tell me in the comments , I’d genuinely love to know. 🌸

In a few months, I’ll be 57.

And the older I get, the more I realise that growing doesn’t always mean adding more, doing more or becoming “better”.

Sometimes growth looks like letting go.

Letting go of what I can’t control. And there is a lot...

Letting go of other people’s expectations and opinions. (Really getting better ..)

Letting go of the pressure to always be productive. (That's a hard one...)

Giving myself permission to slow down, to rest, and to listen to what I need. (That's a hard one too😁.)

I’m also learning to have more compassion for the woman I am today, not the woman I used to be, or the woman I think I should be ( that's the hardest part for me )

Am I there yet? Absolutely not. 😉

Some lessons take a little longer to learn.

But perhaps that’s part of ageing too: embracing who we are becoming, flaws and all.

What is something you’re learning to let go of as you get older?❤

You don’t lose your sparkle with age.
You simply stop apologising for it.

There comes a point when you realise that getting older isn’t about becoming less of who you were.

It’s about becoming more of who you are.
Less apologising.
Less trying to fit in.
Less worrying about what people might think.

And more trusting yourself.
More wearing what brings you joy.
More saying what you mean.
More taking up your space.
More allowing yourself to be seen.

Maybe that’s the real gift of midlife: not finding a new sparkle, but finally recognising that the one you had was there all along.
So here’s to getting older, getting bolder… and shining without asking permission.

What have you stopped apologising for as you’ve got older?❤

Part 3 of my Upcycling Series: when art gets a second life .

I found this beautiful embroidered canvas inspired by Les Glaneuses (The Gleaners) by Jean-François Millet and immediately saw its potential… not as a piece to hang on a wall, but as something I could carry with me every day.

With a linen lining and a gorgeous velvet back, this forgotten textile has been transformed into a unique bag — a piece with history, texture and a story of its own.

And the best part? It is now my new work bag… or my “anything” bag. Because if you are anything like me, you can never have too many bags! 😉

This is what I love about upcycling: looking beyond what something is and imagining what it could become.

What do you think of this transformation?

And tell me… what is your latest upcycling project? I would love to hear your creative ideas.
