SE JOU SE – DIE STRAND stands in solidarity with the families, loved ones and communities affected by the tragic loss of seven women in the Ekurhuleni area.

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn with those who have lost mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, friends and neighbours. Every woman’s life matters. Every victim deserves justice. Every family deserves answers.

We call for thorough investigations, accountability and justice for the victims and their families.

As a community organisation, we believe that we must stand together during moments like these. This is not only the pain of one community it is a pain felt across South Africa.

A New Chapter for Our Community Police Forum

Today marks the beginning of an important new chapter for our community and the Community Police Forum (CPF). Se Jou Se NPC, together with the community, proudly congratulates the newly elected CPF leadership members who have stepped forward to serve, represent and strengthen our community.

We congratulate:

Chairperson – Ms Lillian Albertyn
Deputy Chairperson – Mr Danfred Kleinschmidt
Secretary – Mrs Lisa Visser
Projects Coordinator – Nico Beukes
Treasurer – Patrick Sauls

These individuals have accepted an important responsibility. A strong Community Police Forum plays a vital role in creating better communication and cooperation between the community, SAPS and other safety structures. Their leadership will require commitment, patience, integrity and, most importantly, a genuine passion for the people they serve.

Our communities face many challenges, but through unity and strong partnerships, we can work towards safer neighbourhoods and a better future for everyone. The success of the CPF will not depend only on its elected members, but also on the support and participation of the entire community.

As Se Jou Se NPC, we believe in standing together, supporting positive leadership and working alongside organisations and individuals who are committed to making a difference.

To the newly elected members: thank you for accepting the call to serve. May your term be guided by unity, transparency, respect and dedication to the people of our community.

Sê Jou Sê NPC would like to remind all residents of Strand and Gordon’s Bay that this coming weekend (1–2 August 2026) is the last voter registration weekend before the local government election on 4 November 2026.

Our community has made an important decision to support a ward candidate, and we respect Brent Louis for his decision to stand and for the political party he has chosen to represent.

Brent has consistently served the community by helping residents access basic services, logging service delivery requests, and assisting people in times of need. Whether it is an emergency, a municipal issue, or community support, he has often been just one phone call away.

We encourage every eligible resident 18 years and older to register, verify your voting details, or update your address if necessary.

Voting stations will be open from 08:00 to 17:00.

Don’t miss this opportunity to make your voice count. Your future is in your hands.

It is with profound sadness that we have learned of the untimely passing of two talented young South African sportsmen, Luqobo "Bibo" Makwedini (20) and Jayden Adams (25).

Both were exceptional athletes whose passion, dedication and commitment inspired countless young people across our country. Their lives, though far too short, left a lasting impact on their teammates, supporters and the South African sporting community.

On behalf of Sê Jou Sê NPC, we extend our heartfelt condolences to their families, friends, teammates and everyone whose lives they touched. May you find comfort, strength and peace during this incredibly difficult time.
May their memories continue to inspire future generations, and may their legacies live on forever.

It is with profound sadness that Se Jou Se Die Strand mourns the passing of Creashy Maart.

Creashy's journey was one of extraordinary courage, unwavering faith and remarkable resilience. Despite enduring immense pain and countless challenges, she continued to inspire thousands with her strength, hope and beautiful spirit.

Her story reminded us to cherish every moment, to never lose hope, and to face life's greatest battles with dignity and grace. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, her legacy of courage will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

May Allah (SWT) forgive her shortcomings, fill her Qabr with Noor and Rahmah, grant her Maghfirah, elevate her to the highest ranks of Jannatul Firdaus, and grant her family Sabrun Jameel.
