Where Music Meets Community
We are a community-based orchestra based in the Vaal Triangle, passionate about uniting people through music and giving back through charity. Formerly known as the Vaal Pop-up Orchestra, we’ve grown into the Vaal Philharmonic Orchestra, a space for musicians, by musicians, and for the good of the community. Our mission is to create unforgettable musical experiences while supporting meaningful causes. From classical concerts to Christmas charity events, every performance helps us raise funds and awareness for local charities.

Farewell to Phehello Motaung.
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved musician, Phehello Motaung.
At only 18 years old, Phehello was not only a member of our musical family, but a kind hearted soul. His passion for music and his warm presence will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of playing alongside him.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn his passing.
Phehello’s funeral will be held tomorrow. As his friends and family honour his life, we also celebrate the beautiful music he shared with us and the joy he brought to our performances.
Though his time with us was far too short, his memory and his music will live on in our hearts. Rest in peace, Phehello. You will always be part of our band.
