Message from Mr Keith Gordon, CEO of FASfacts:
π IT TAKES A COMMUNITY TO PREVENT FETAL ALCOHOL SYNDROME π
On 9 September 2026, FASfacts proudly commemorated International Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) Day at Worcester Town Hall, bringing together learners, community organisations, stakeholders and members of the community.
Under the powerful theme, βIt Takes a Community to Prevent Fetal Alcohol Syndrome,β we came together to raise awareness, share knowledge and remind one another that protecting unborn babies is a shared responsibility.
Every child deserves the best possible start in life. By educating our communities, supporting families and working together, we can prevent FAS and help build healthier, stronger communities. π
Together, let us educate. Together, let us support. Together, let us prevent FAS.

Making Every Day a Mandela Day! ππ€β€οΈ
On Friday, 17 July 2026, FASfacts proudly partnered with Mosaic for a Mandela Day community outreach activity in Riverview, Worcester.
Together, we engaged with community members by sharing information about the services and support offered by our organisations through our exhibition tables. As part of our commitment to empowering young people and promoting dignity, we also distributed 50 sanitary packs to young girls in the community.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this initiative a success. Mandela Day reminds us that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Together, we continue to build stronger, healthier, and more caring communities.

PLEASE SHARE TO ALL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS : Our NGO FASfacts , which I co-founded in 2002, for the prevention and intervention of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, has now a Facebook group as well... PLEASE JOIN MY GROUP AND INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY π Because South Africa πΏπ¦ has by far the highest FASD prevalence rate in the world, and the permanent brain damage thereof are still increasing, we need all hands on deck. Please share and discuss your opinion and experience of the totally preventable, horrible syndrome π

The Waitrose Foundation SA
Our Ceres based YearBeyond YeBoneers are on the go and making important connections that matter and support the work they are doing in their local communities this year.
The Community Connect group had an early morning visit from Mr. Melvin Bezuidenhout from the Western Cape Local Government. He shared information about a workshop that he and his team are planning, which will focus on non-support, household content, and gender-based violence.
The YeBoneers have established a working relationship, and going forward, they will be closely involved with the local government on these initiatives. Very exciting. Well done team!

WE ARE A MIRACLE β£οΈ
As is water, so is life. The waves may test our strength as the ocean currents too may test our balance. The little splashes of wet sand may test our inner humor.
Let it test you
Stay the course
Being grounded is purely a state of mind, connection helps.
Stay connected to all that nurtures your Soul, and release into the mystical stormy waters all that has served its place.
We are here to love and be love, and absolutely nothing less.
Go ahead and walk into the waters knowing that the only certainty in life is in miracles.
We are a miracle.
