What an inspiring conclusion to an unforgettable journey!

Day Two showcased the incredible creativity, compassion and leadership of young changemakers during the National Design for Change Expo, where learners proudly shared the positive impact they have created in their schools and communities.

At Design for Change, we do not compete—we celebrate every child who chooses to make a difference. Every Story of Change presented was a testament to the power of the I CAN mindset.

During the Recognition Ceremony, we celebrated schools and individuals whose contributions stood out for their impact and commitment:

🏆 Outstanding Story of Change – Primary School: Munga Primary School (Eastern Province)

🏆 Outstanding Story of Change – Secondary School: Tuvwananai Secondary School (North-Western Province)

🏆 Changemaker Province: North-Western Province

🏆 Student Leadership Recognition: Eastern Province Student Council Representative

🏆 Teacher Changemaker Recognition: Copperbelt Province

The two Outstanding Stories of Change have been identified to represent Zambia at the Design for Change Global Summit, subject to the availability of sponsorship and travel funding.

Day One Highlights | 3rd Design for Change Zambia I Can Children's National Summit 🇿🇲

What an inspiring beginning to our 3rd Design for Change Zambia National Summit!
Held under the theme, "I Can Create Lasting Impact: Empowering Young Changemakers for Sustainable Communities," the first day brought together learners, teachers, education leaders, and partners from across Zambia to celebrate the power of young people to create positive change.
The day featured an inspiring official opening, powerful Stories of Change, engaging discussions, and meaningful interactions that reminded us that every child has the potential to make a difference.
We were honoured by the presence of the Deputy Permanent Secretary for North-Western Province, education officials, school leaders, partners, and mentors whose encouragement inspired our young changemakers to continue believing in the I CAN mindset.
As we reflected on the day, one message stood out: every child has the power to create lasting impact.
