The Implementors Team has received with deep sorrow the sad news of the passing on of the beloved grandmother to our Provincial Coordinator, Mr. Mukisi.

Mr. Mukisi lived with his grandmother for a long time and he was the one taking care of her with love and dedication. We know this is a very painful moment for him and the whole family.

On behalf of the entire Implementors family across the province, we wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to our Coordinator and his family. We are with you in prayers during this difficult time.

May the soul of our grandmother rest in eternal peace.

We have lost a mother, but heaven has gained an angel.

MINISTRY OF EDUCATION 'S PLAN TO PROMOTE 1000 OFFICERS _ABORTED_ .
.. How can the process be effective before cleansing the Sector ?

In the morning, we carried an advert of the topic, " Ministry of Education set to promote over 1000 Officers within this week ." We wondered how the process could be effective if the Sector remained with some compromised PEOs, DEBS, Human Resource Officers and other key officers involved in the promotions.

As usual, some Doubting Thomases mocked us, " Implementors Team is dreaming!" We do not dream, but we observe everything in every public office even as we grow Zambia together.

By this afternoon, we learnt that the planned meeting to promote the 1000 Officers has been cancelled. However , this can not stop us from sharing our Opinion on the said matter .

OUR VIEW :

1. The Ministry of Education has the mandate to promote its Officers. However, the timing of the promotions matter.

2 .At this particular time, many people are talking about cleansing the Education Sector due to some compromised PEOs, DEBS, Human Resource Officers, the Headquarters, among many others. How will the PF aligned Officers promote the UPND aligned ones.

3 .Many UPND Aligned Officers in the Public Service are frustrated due to lack of promotions.

WAY FORWARD :

1. The Cleansing of the Education Sector should begin at the Headquarters. All the compromised officers must be removed.

2 .All the compromised PEOs must be removed.

3 .All the compromised DEBS must be removed.

4. All the compromised Human Resource Officers and other top Officers must be removed.

5. All the compromised Head teachers must be removed.

6 .The PS Education ( Administration) must collaborate with the Teaching Service Chairperson.

7. We appeal to the UPND Officials to avoid being compromised by the PF in the system. It's these same compromised Officials who makes the cleansing process difficult.

8. We appeal to the PS ( Admin) to collaborate with her colleague ( PS Technical Services) on all matters pertaining to their Offices.

We do not a need a magician to tell us that many top Officers in the Education Sector are compromised and can't be trusted to conduct the Recruitment and the Promotion Exercises. It's high time that this Sector was cleansed.

Well done for cancelling the promotion process. It's our hope this will be implemented as soon as the compromised Officers are removed from the system .

Ours is to analyse, advise and recommend for implementation without fear or favour.

MWEEMBA PLEDGES TO CHAMPION CHILANGA DEVELOPMENT

Chilanga – 4th October, 2026

Chilanga Nominated Member of Parliament under the Proportional Representation (PR) system Misheck Mweemba has pledged to work closely with the Lusaka District leadership and the people of Chilanga to spearhead development and address the needs of residents.

Speaking when he met the Lusaka District leadership, Mr. Mweemba said his entry into Parliament would be focused on representing the interests of the people and contributing to national development.

He described the Grow Zambia Agenda as more than an ordinary government programme, saying it represents a national call to action that requires the participation of every sector and citizen.

Mr. Mweemba said the agenda's targets, captured under the 10-10-3-3-5-1-1-1 framework, include producing 10 million metric tonnes of maize, generating 10,000 megawatts of electricity, attracting five million tourists, producing three million tonnes each of copper and soya, as well as one million tonnes each of wheat and sugar, alongside developing a US$1 billion beef export industry.

He said achieving these targets would require leaders and citizens to work together and embrace initiatives aimed at transforming various sectors of the economy.

Mr. Mweemba urged Zambians to be proactive by developing initiatives that contribute to economic growth, stressing that every citizen has a role to play in moving the country forward.

He further commended President Hakainde Hichilema for promoting the participation of women, youths and persons with disabilities in Parliament through the PR system.

Mr. Mweemba assured persons living with disabilities that he would not enter Parliament merely to occupy a seat, but would use his position to advocate for their rights and address barriers they continue to face in education, healthcare and economic opportunities.

He said his priority would be to ensure that the voices and concerns of people who have historically faced exclusion are represented in Parliament and incorporated into the national development agenda.

HICHILEMA URGES ZAMBIANS TO UPHOLD PEACE AND UNITY.

MONZE – 4th October, 2026

President Hakainde Hichilema has urged Zambians to remain united and uphold the spirit of “One Zambia, One Nation, One People”, saying unity was central to the country’s struggle for independence.

President Hichilema said this when he graced the Samu Lya Moomba Traditional Ceremony in Monze, Southern Province, where he reflected on the sacrifices and collective efforts of Zambia’s forefathers in the fight for independence.

The President recalled how communities in Southern Zambia worked together by mobilizing cattle, which were later sold to raise funds in support of the liberation struggle.
He said the mobilisation of cattle and the holding of crucial meetings took place in Chief Choongo’s Chiefdom, at the site now known as Samu Lya Moomba.

President Hichilema said the traditional ceremony provides an important platform to celebrate Zambian culture while recognizing historical sites and the contributions of communities that helped shape the country’s journey to independence.

He called on Zambians to preserve the country’s history and heritage, noting that the collective efforts of citizens over the years have played an important role in shaping Zambia’s cultural identity.

President Hichilema further assured traditional leaders and communities that the Government will continue supporting traditional ceremonies across the country as part of efforts to preserve and promote Zambia’s cultural heritage.

He also urged citizens to continue working hard and contribute to national development in line with the Grow Zambia Agenda, with the goal of building a more prosperous Zambia by 2031.

ZAMBIA PARTICIPATES IN INAUGURAL ALAMEIN AFRICA BUSINESS FORUM 2026, ADVANCES THE “GROW ZAMBIA” AGENDA

New Alamein, Egypt – 4 October 2026 — Zambia participated in the inaugural Alamein Africa Business Forum 2026, held in New Alamein, Egypt, from 2–4 October 2026, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening intra-African trade, investment, industrialisation and economic integration.

Held under the auspices of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Forum brought together African Governments, development finance institutions, investors and private-sector leaders to promote practical partnerships and advance Africa’s economic transformation.

Zambia’s broad-based participation brought together Government institutions, quasi-government and investment-promoting agencies, and the private sector. This whole-of-economy approach provided an important platform to engage investors, financial institutions and business leaders on opportunities aligned with Zambia’s “Grow Zambia” Agenda, particularly in agriculture and agro-processing, mining and critical minerals, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, technology and tourism.

Tourism featured as an important component of Zambia’s economic diversification and investment agenda. With its rich wildlife, natural landscapes, cultural heritage and adventure tourism offerings, Zambia has significant potential to attract investment in tourism infrastructure, hospitality, destination marketing, air connectivity and related services. Engagements at the Forum also provided an opportunity to promote Zambia as an attractive destination for Egyptian and international tourists and investors, with potential to increase tourist arrivals, foreign exchange earnings, employment and local participation in the tourism value chain.

The Forum reinforced the importance of moving Africa from the export of raw materials towards value addition, local processing, manufacturing and stronger regional value chains. These priorities are closely aligned with Zambia’s objective of expanding productive capacity, creating jobs and generating greater economic opportunities for its citizens.

The discussions also underscored the strategic role of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and regional economic communities such as COMESA in expanding markets, facilitating trade and strengthening regional value chains. Zambia’s strategic position in Southern Africa presents opportunities for investors seeking access to regional and continental markets.

Zambia regards Egypt as a strategic economic partner and an important gateway for strengthening commercial and tourism linkages between Southern and North Africa. The Forum therefore provided an opportunity to deepen Zambia–Egypt relations by connecting Zambian institutions and businesses with Egyptian and international investors, financial institutions and private-sector partners.

The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Cairo will continue to facilitate such engagements through economic diplomacy, with a focus on converting opportunities identified at the Forum into practical outcomes, including business partnerships, investment missions, trade and tourism opportunities, project development and value-chain investments.

Zambia’s participation demonstrates its commitment to moving from ambition to implementation by mobilising the public and private sectors around investment, production, trade, tourism, value addition and job creation.

The Alamein Africa Business Forum has therefore provided an important platform for Zambia to advance the “Grow Zambia” Agenda, strengthen Zambia–Egypt economic relations and position Zambia as a competitive destination for investment, trade, tourism and productive partnerships in Africa.

Abu Dhabi Ports Group Eyes Zambia’s Logistics And Fuel Sectors

Abu Dhabi-based AD Ports Group is exploring investments in Zambia’s logistics, fuel storage and refinery sectors.

The company says Zambia’s location could make it a stronger logistics and energy hub for the wider region.

AD Ports Group operates across about 75 countries and is also looking at opportunities to expand its fuel and refining business in Africa.

GOVERNMENT DECENTRALIZES CANCER SERVICES TO INCREASE ACCESS-DR LISHIMPI

Lusaka - 3rd October, 2026

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Kennedy Lishimpi says government is advancing the decentralization of cancer services so as to allow more access.

Speaking in Lusaka during the Zambian Cancer Society Fitness Event, Dr Lishimpi says current national estimates indicate that Zambia records approximately 16-thousand five hundred new cancer cases every year.

Dr Lishimpi said government has continued to strengthen cancer treatment and diagnostic capacity at Cancer Diseases Hospital in Lusaka.

He has also called on citizens to adopt healthier lifestyles and seek medical attention when in doubt.

The PS highlighted that government through the Ministry has continued to take steps to strengthen cancer management in the country.
