Two friends and an episode of Silicon Valley. That's our story. ๐
Imagine meeting on campus, doing class assignments together, eating calculated lunch because you didn't always have enough money, and not talking much about girls because, well... the other guy was weird. ๐
Fast forward a few years.
Those same two guys have built a tech startup together.
A working solution with actual users ๐
.
A team of six people and growing.
And recently, we've even remodeled the business to make the most of the skills and experience we've built over the years.
But none of that was the plan. At least, not in the beginning.
We were just two guys who enjoyed building things. We'd sit around working on little projects, experimenting with technology and trying to figure things out. And somewhere in all of that was Silicon Valley.
We watched a lot of it in the beginning. Richard Hendricks was trying to build Pied Piper, and we were fascinated by this idea of creating something from nothing, building technology and eventually having something that was actually yours.
Of course, our goal was never to end up like them. ๐
But maybe, just maybe, the show planted a little seed.
We didn't know it at the time, but those little projects, those late nights, those experiments and all those conversations about technology would eventually become something much bigger.
We weren't trying to start a company. We were just trying to build something.
And that's probably where ByteHub really started.

Zambia's premier API integration partner Building Africa's Digital Infrastructure.
Payment integrations aren't just API calls. Here's why founders spend months getting them right.
One of the biggest misconceptions in software development is that integrating payments is "just connecting to an API." With AI writing code in seconds and endless tutorials online, it's easy to assume this should take a few days. In reality, we've watched founders spend 3 to 6 months building payment infrastructure that's actually ready for production.
Why? Because making the API call is the easy part. The real work starts after that first successful request.
โ
Can your system handle thousands of customers paying at the same time?
โ
What happens when a payment provider times out, but the transaction still goes through on their end?
โ
How do you stop the same payment from being processed twice?
โ
What happens when a callback fails to reach you?
โ
Is your platform protected against fraud and abuse?
One of our engineers put it best after a rough night debugging a production issue: "I learned that the hard way." Anyone who's built payment systems knows exactly what he means.
A real payment platform needs scalable architecture, fraud protection, retry mechanisms, transaction reconciliation, monitoring, and disaster recovery, not just a working API call. These aren't things you learn from documentation. They're lessons learned from real production systems, real outages, and real customers depending on it working.
Our team has spent years integrating mobile money, banking, and communication platforms. That experience is what lets us deliver integrations that are fast to launch and built to actually hold up once your customers are relying on them.
What's been your biggest headache with payment integrations? Tell us in the comments ๐

Your mobile money account is doing far less than it could โ and your business is paying the price for it. Most entrepreneurs use mobile money for basic transactions and stop there. But it can automate your collections, reconcile your accounts in real time, schedule payouts, and integrate into the systems your business already runs on.
Wilson Simwanza will show you exactly how โ for free.
This three-day Tech Masterclass moves mobile money from a payment tool to a core business system. Every session is hands-on, practical, and immediately applicable to your business.
