Youth Projects Development Platform (YPDP) was pleased to participate in the African Bird’s Eye Chili Farming Training held in Vorna Valley, Lusaka. The training, organized by A Chance for Change Foundation, provided participants with valuable knowledge and practical skills in chili production, sustainable farming practices, and market-oriented agriculture.

Representing YPDP Zambia, Jonathan Chilembo and Serah Banda, took part in both the theoretical and field-based learning sessions. The training highlighted the importance of farmer support systems, technical capacity building, and collective approaches to improving productivity and income opportunities for smallholder farmers.

The insights gained through this engagement will contribute to YPDP Zambia’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable livelihoods, economic empowerment, and community development through agriculture.

Growing knowledge. Strengthening livelihoods. Building resilient communities.

Every success story reminds us why youth empowerment matters. Through the From Margins to Leadership (FML) Project, with support from the AU-EU Youth Lab , Faith Nawa Nasilele has gained valuable knowledge, skills, and confidence that are enabling her to actively contribute to her community and pursue opportunities for personal growth and leadership.
Her testimony reflects the transformative impact of investing in young people and creating platforms where their voices can be heard, their potential can be nurtured, and their leadership can flourish.
At Youth Projects Development Platform (YPDP), we remain committed to empowering young people through initiatives that promote meaningful participation, inclusion, and sustainable community development.

Youth projects Development Platform (YPDP Zambia) was honored to participate in the second cohort of the Civil Society Dialogues held at Family Legacy Resort. The engagement, hosted for community action in partnership with Norwegian Church Aid under the JCP Zambia Project, brought together 30 Executive Directors from civil society organizations across Zambia.

Representing YPDP Zambia, our Executive Director, Patrick Mweetwa joined fellow leaders in discussions focused on strengthening coordination, collaboration, and collective advocacy within the sector. The dialogue provided a valuable platform to reflect on the history and impact of civil society in Zambia while addressing key challenges, including shrinking civic space, organizational sustainability, funding pressures, and coordination gaps.

A key outcome of the discussions was a shared commitment among leaders to shift from competition toward collaboration. Participants explored practical strategies to strengthen the sector through improved coordination, joint resource mobilization, collective advocacy, and the establishment of social enterprises to enhance organizational sustainability.

"Strong partnerships and collective leadership are essential if we are to create lasting impact for young people and vulnerable communities," said the Executive Director of YPDP Zambia. "The conversations and action plans developed during this dialogue mark an important step toward building a more united, resilient, and impactful civil society sector in the years ahead."

YPDP Zambia remains committed to working with partners and stakeholders to advance youth leadership, civic engagement, and community development. Together, we believe that a stronger and more coordinated civil society will deliver greater impact for the communities we serve.

Stronger together. Greater impact together.

YPDP is proud to share that our Executive Director, Patrick Mweetwa, successfully participated in the Climate Justice Academy 2026 held at MS TCDC in Arusha, Tanzania, with support from ActionAid Denmark and Global Platform Zambia under ActionAid Zambia. The academy brought together young climate justice activists from across Africa and beyond to strengthen skills in climate justice advocacy, climate finance, policy engagement, activism, and movement building. The experience strengthened YPDP’s capacity to advance youth-led climate action, amplify vulnerable communities’ voices, and promote sustainable and inclusive climate solutions in Zambia.
AS YPDP, we remain committed to supporting youth-led initiatives, nurturing creative activism, and building spaces where young changemakers can continue to shape a more inclusive and accountable future for all.
