What an honour it was to be with Prof. Arthur G.O. Mutambara at the Institute of Architects of Zimbabwe - IAZ Annual Conference 2026 at the National University of Science and Technology in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. He gave an insightful and lively presentation titled 'AI IN ARCHITECTURE: THE NEXT GENERATION OF DESIGN PRACTICE' for which my generation of architects remains grateful.

Congratulations to Li Zhang (China), elected as the new President of the UIA for the 2026–2029 term!

Previously Vice President of Region IV, Li Zhang now takes on the UIA’s top leadership role. After three intense days of the General Assembly here in Barcelona, alongside the incredible UIA World Congress of Architects, we’re thrilled to welcome the new leadership of our global architecture community. Tomorrow marks the first Council of the new mandate — the journey begins!
