Robotics education without inclusion is not inclusive education.

Young girls in Africa deserve equal access to STEM education, robotics and AI. Their location or socioeconomic background should not determine whether they get to learn, create and participate in digital technologies shaping our future.

Every child deserves a chance to build the future.

We were delighted to be part of the Global Schools Symposium, hosted by the Global Schools Program.

The Global Schools Program is an initiative of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN Youth).

We explored how schools can move beyond learning and turn knowledge into action. For us, this connects strongly with our work in AI, robotics and design thinking, working with schools in Africa.

Last year, we developed the L.I.A Framework, which our students have used to turn ideas into functional AI and robotics solution prototypes for climate action.

These include flood prediction systems, solar-powered mobile weather stations and an AI-powered geospatial hazard alert system, among others.

At Mator Design, we believe that STEM education should equip young Africans to succeed in their careers and build a climate-smart future.

We’re proud to celebrate our student Edward, who was awarded a Gold Medal at the Africa Science Buskers, was named a top 3 participant and received the International Broadcom Award.

Edward joined our AI & Robotics program in 2023 and consistently reminded us of his passion for astrophysics.
