Welcome back to Affinity Freight. Its been a long time since I wrote on this page. It had to do with Covid. I was enthusiastic at first and hoped this virus would disappear. Unfortunately its here to stay.
So it is business unusual. Every day we have to devise sustainable strategies in terms of routing costing mode of transport etc for our clients.
Consolidations have become the norm so that our clients can at least get affordable rates. As more and more planes begin to fly we expect a marginal decrease in rates.
The burden that air is going to take from the other modes of transport will also resiult in some small savings .

The official exchange rate has moved from 57.4 lat week Tuesday to 63.74 today. This increases your duty and vat and is such a big jump from the 25.1 that was prevailing. What does this do to your budget, pricing and competitiveness. Lets talk

The Zimbabwe Government has implemented an auction system for foregn exchange,
The first auction took place yeaterday where about 11million usd was auctioned. The highest bid was 100 RTGS to 1 USD and the lowest was 25 for 1 usd. The average which the bank is using this week as the exchange rate is 57.4.
This means that your value for duty purposes is now up from 25 to 57 causing a huge jump in duty and vat.
