💐THROUGH HER EYES | THE MOTHER & DAUGHTER PICNIC

**Love • Laughter • Lessons • Legacy**

On Saturday, 29 August 2026, PROWEB brought mothers and daughters together for a truly special afternoon at our *Through Her Eyes Mother & Daughter Picnic*

The event created an opportunity for women to step away from their professional roles, responsibilities and busy schedules and simply be and — connecting, laughing, playing and having meaningful conversations.

The afternoon opened with a reflection on the central theme of *Through Her Eyes*, giving daughters an opportunity to share how they see, understand and experience their mothers, while mothers reflected on their journey of raising and walking alongside their daughters.

🌸 THE STORIES THAT TOUCHED US

Through heartfelt conversations, we journeyed through the different stages of the mother-daughter relationship:

✨ **While She Still Holds My Hand** — where Faith Manjonjo and her daughter shared reflections on the formative years and the foundations mothers build while they remain their daughters' greatest influence.

✨ **The Teenage Years** — where Dr Maureen Mbondiah and her daughter shared insights around communication and remaining connected during a daughter's journey of self-discovery.

✨ **Finding Her Own Voice** — where Anorah Sibanda and her daughters explored identity, choices, independence and the transition into adulthood.

✨ **Learning to Let Her Fly** — where Martha Nyabadza and her daughter reflected on the journey from parenting a child to walking alongside an independent young woman.

✨ **Now I Understand You** — a powerful intergenerational conversation featuring families including Mrs Liz Tiyago, Nellie and her son, as well as Mrs Karuma, Mrs Belinda Ndoro and Zoe, reminding us of the beautiful moment when motherhood comes full circle and daughters begin to understand their own mothers through new eyes.

🎤 Our main conversation, **“Motherhood Without Perfection,” with Clara Mlambo and her mum**, gave us an honest and candid reflection on motherhood — the lessons, mistakes, sacrifices, growth and grace that shape both mothers and daughters. It reminded us that motherhood is a journey, not a pursuit of perfection.

💃🏊‍♀️🎶 And of course, it would not have been a picnic without the fun! The afternoon was filled with games, laughter, music, dancing, swimming, creative activities, photography and plenty of beautiful moments of connection. Mothers and daughters had the opportunity to relax, play and discover just how well they know one another.

As we concluded the afternoon, our PROWEB President, Tendayi Hlupo-Mamvura, brought together the bigger picture of the mother-daughter journey — from the little girl who still holds her mother's hand, through adolescence and independence, to the daughter who eventually becomes a mother herself. The relationship changes. The roles evolve. But at every stage, there is value in stopping and taking time to see one another again — Through Her Eyes.

Thank you to every mother, daughter, speaker and family and who made this afternoon such a beautiful and memorable experience. ❤️
