Stoppage-Time Drama as Black Mambas FC Secure Heroic Away Victory

Black Mambas FC produced a thrilling, high drama performance to claim all three points in a hard fought 2-1 victory over Cranborne Bullets FC. In a match defined by late game resilience and touching team unity, a 88th minute winner from Evidence Chamunorwa sealed a unforgettable afternoon on the road.

The afternoon began with a powerful display of camaraderie. Black Mambas lined up for kick-off holding high the number 29 jersey of teammate Manfred Gwaruka, dedicating the fixture to him following his graduation yesterday.

Once underway, Mambas quickly took control of the tempo. The breakthrough arrived in the 19th minute when Tatenda 'Josta' Hove broke the deadlock, finishing neatly to put the visitors 1-0 ahead. In a fitting echo of the pre-match tribute, Hove and the squad celebrated the opening goal by hoisting Gwaruka's jersey once more.

Hove remained at the center of the action, earning a yellow card in the 34th minute after a heavy challenge, but Black Mambas successfully managed the tempo to hold their 1-0 advantage going into the break.

Cranborne Bullets emerged with renewed urgency in the second half, pressing high to disrupt Mambas' rhythm. Their persistence paid off in the 73rd minute when the home side found an equalizer to level the score at 1-1.

Responding immediately, Black Mambas made a decisive double substitution in the 75th minute:
ON : Zorodzai Semure & Lawson Muchongwe
OFF : Denzel Makwarimba & Denzel Dimingu

The fresh energy re-energized the attack as Mambas pushed forward to reclaim control in the closing stages.
88th Minute Stoppage Time Winner

With the match deep into injury time and heading toward a draw, Evidence Chamunorwa delivered the ultimate moment of magic in the 88th minute. Striking deep in stoppage time to restore the lead, Evidence sent the bench and supporters into raptures, racing to the touchline to lift Gwaruka's jersey high one final time in a dramatic, heart stopping celebration.

Moments later, the final whistle confirmed a heroic 2-1 victory, capping off an intense afternoon of determination, heart, and relentless team spirit.

Match Delay Raises Urgent Questions Over Officiating Standards in Women’s Football

Kick-off in today’s clash between Black Mambas Queens FC and Scottland Queens FC has been delayed by over 30 minutes at Mkushi AcademyGrounds, following the late arrival of the match center referee. While both squads completed their pre-match warm-ups on schedule and were fully prepared to play, action at the venue remains halted awaiting official personnel.

Unpunctuality among match officials is rapidly becoming a frustrating trend that threatens the integrity and professional growth of the women's game. Just 2 weeks ago, a similar incident occurred when referees arrived 15 minutes late to a fixture at the same venue. That initial delay triggered a domino effect across the day's schedule, leaving the subsequent Division 2 fixture between Herentals mens D2 and DZ Royals delayed by 33 minutes—a disruption that ultimately culminated in a walkover for Herentals.

When match officials fail to adhere to basic scheduling standards, it holds teams, players, and supporters hostage. Chronic delays not only undermine the athletic preparation of players who are forced to stay warm and focused long past scheduled kick-off times, but they also bring the administrative administration of women's football into disrepute.

If women’s football is to continue building the respect, audience, and professionalism it deserves, governing bodies and referee appointments committees must hold officials to the same standards of accountability expected of the clubs themselves.
