The Grandiflora is a fascinating and somewhat debated class in the rose world. Introduced in 1954 to describe roses that didn't quite fit the Hybrid Tea or Floribunda classification. It is recognised mainly in the United States of America

Miniature roses are a compact, low growing class producing small, perfectly scaled blooms in a wide range of colours and forms.
They are a popular choice for container growing and small spaces. Miniature roses are often grown on their own roots, making them naturally long lived and true to their cultivar🌹

The Floribunda is a class of rose developed in the 1920s by crossing Hybrid Teas with Polyanthas, combining the elegant blooms of the Hybrid Tea with the cluster-flowering habit of the Polyantha.

The name Floribunda comes from the Latin meaning "many flowering". It lives up to its name, producing clusters of blooms that create a spectacular display of colour in the garden throughout the season.🌹🌹🌹

While Hybrid Teas are known for producing large blooms on individual stems, Floribundas are prized for their abundance of flowers and outstanding garden performance!

The Polyantha is one of the oldest and most charming rose classes, developed in the late 19th century and the direct ancestor of the modern Floribunda.

One of the most beloved Polyanthas is the timeless Cécile Brunner,🌹 introduced in 1881 and still growing in gardens across Zimbabwe today. You may not know her by name but there is a good chance she grew in your grandmother’s garden and may still be growing in yours!🌿

The Hybrid Tea is the rose that shaped the modern garden.

Created from crosses between Tea Roses and Hybrid Perpetuals, it combined beautiful flower form with stronger growth and repeat flowering.

When 'La France' was introduced in 1867, it changed the course of rose history. Its influence was so great that it became the dividing line between Old Garden Roses and Modern Roses, making the Hybrid Tea the first modern rose class.

More than 150 years later, Hybrid Teas remain among the world's most loved roses, admired for their large blooms, long stems and classic elegance.

What is your favourite Hybrid Tea rose?🌹
